    Pros

Many friendly people. Nice break room and free breakfast on Fridays. Also every month entertainment, food, and wine is provided.

    Cons

Most employees don't stay long. Very low salaries and ancient processes. Work load seems to trickle down the ladder when no one wants to take responsibility.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

When projects aren't getting done for months on end, hold the Manager responsible.

    Pros

There are some really great people working at this company.

    Cons

Too top heavy in management. You need to have been an employee at Bridgelux or Phillips Lumileds to be considered of value to management.
The CEO clearly does not consider the employees important to the organization. He does not walk around and talk to them. He stays in his office. When he does come out, it's a 50/50 chance you will be acknowledged. He rarely communicates to the employees, even when important announcements come out.
Benefits are the pits. You pay too much in co-insurance. No 401k match. No tuition reimbursement. This wouldn't be so bad, if it was a great place to work, but it's not.
Workload is too heavy, need more workers to do the work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop hiring so many directors & VP, especially in sales & marketing. You need more workers to do the work, not directors. Pay attention to the business, not just the sales. Quality of the product is inconsistent. Sell on value, quality & relationship, not just price. Take the time to listen to the employees. Get all the facts before jumping into "fixing" things.

Working at Intematix as a Mechanical Engineering Intern provided a fantastic experience in working with small teams.

I worked at Intematix as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Intematix is a company that primarily refines phosphor for LED applications. When I worked for the company in the ChromaLit division, the R&D group was very small, consisting of three physicists, one mechanical engineer, one manufacturing engineering, and a handful of technicians. The group's objective was to replace current lighting technology (incandescent and fluorescent) with LED lighting. The group was small enough to take on almost any customer's requests to net an income.

    Cons

This company is a smaller, and thus offers fewer benefits to employees and provides less job security. The ChromaLit department is a little bit haphazard and does not have fantastic documentation.

I have been working at Intematix full-time

    Pros

    Good benefits
Flexible hours depending on your manager
Day goes by quick because of your work load
    Job security

    Cons

    No 401k matching
    No career growth
    Limited career development

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Investing in top executives from large and successful corporations does not make you a large and successful corporation. It is a small company with lots of growing pains. Focus on employee retention by helping them refine their current skills and develop new ones as well. As one employee leave hiring a new member because they are already stretch thin. Getting another executive will only add too their workload.
