I have been working at InterCall full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

First I would rate InterCall a 3.5 but that is not an option
Promotes from within and that is a big plus
International opportunities for some in Sales
There are a lot of great people in the company
    Benefits to a degree

    Cons

    Core product is commoditized
Company trying to reinvent itself which is needs to do
Not so great pay raises and no pay raises for some due to company performance is affecting moral
Does not invest in employee training or growth enough (somewhat does for Sales)
Benefits: yes they were a pro but they are also a con when compared to many top level companies

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you are not going to give pay raises or make them minimal pay raises, even for well reviewed employees, then invest in your best employees to give them a reason to stay: training, coaching, growth or certification, better benefits, or some key things to enhance retention.

I have been working at InterCall full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Great work environment
A lot of room for growth and promotions
    Great people
    Fast paced
    Opportunity to learn and grow
Great interaction with executives and different teams

    Cons

The pay and the bonus structure could be better. There is a lot of red tape that has recently been put in place that prohibits selling capabilities.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Show your employees appreciation in the form of compensation as well as wellness

I worked at InterCall full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Benefits, time-off, cook-outs, to reward employees for a job well done, leave early when jobs have been completed.

    Cons

drama, too much backstabbing, letting some employees get away with errors/mistakes while others are punished/terminated/written up.

I worked at InterCall full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

There were a great deal of growth opportunities early on including and integrating a staff of over 300 including acquisitions and new hires. Those have ceased to exist. This all seems to be driven by cost reductions and enhancements are driven by the need for ebediimprovements while

    great sales environment

    Cons

watch the market - It is not changing as much one thinks.

I have been working at InterCall full-time

    Pros

    * Really great people at all levels of the company
    * Tons of company outings, where the bar is stocked and no one is shy
    * Regular contests for trips, money, gifts, or time off
    * Forefront of the industry, easy name recognition and credibility
    * Constantly growing and expanding into new fields, great outlook for future
    * Ability to be promoted, and incredibly low turn-over for a sales job
    * AWESOME work-life balance; no pressure to work early/late, nights or weekends

    Cons

    * Sometimes a little micro-managing from upper management
    * Weird culture of nasty emails, then kind words to your face. confusing
    * Pay is low for industry, though commission is OK and the culture makes up for it
    * Benefits are OK (PTO is low first year, inexplicably so)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't expect perfect results when you give us 15 different initiatives which vary from week to week as being "the most important thing." This causes us to roll the dice on what will ACTUALLY be important next week. Also if you propose a SPIFF or a new commission structure, don't change it later to be less enticing or you will erode trust and morale of your employees and lose good salespeople to other companies (As has happened this year).

I have been working at InterCall full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Excellent agents, supervisors and some managers. Sometimes flexible.

    Cons

Senior management is out of touch and makes decisions based on gut, poor pay, poor on recognition.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look beyond the location of your talent- many have a lot to offer if only they could truly trust you and were heard. Lowest cost resource is no longer lowest-cost if you have to redo the work, apologize and issue credits...

I have been working at InterCall full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

On the good days, this is an awesome place to work. Very lean, knowledgeable workforce, reasonable pay, reasonable benefits. Great people. Very down home southern feel to it. I feel like I make a difference.

    Cons

The politics can be challenging at times. Getting better recently, but still the typical good-old boy network. Too much finger pointing at the cost of productivity. Too much emphasis on trying to shoe-horn in canned solutions vs. creativity.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your people more. Certain management tend to lead by scare tactics and threats. That simply needs to stop. You employ professional people. Let them flex their noggins some.

I worked at InterCall full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

A few friendly faces and people who want to do the right thing. Managing teams was easy. There are many dedicated worker bees who are not only smart, but are good working with others and problem solving. InterCall fails to recognize these individuals. They make good money despite the toxic working conditions.

    Cons

Managing up was problematic. Bullying prevailed from Senior Level Management. Nothing has been done to stop this behavior. Most Sr. Directors, VP's were very hard to work with and it was more a popularity contest than the job you proved you can do. Leadership encourages bullying. Women in lower level potions are treated the worst.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get some mandatory Management classes for you senior leadership team. There are home grown leaders that worked their way up from programmers to Sr. Directors who manage by intimidation. It's a very toxic work environment.

I have been working at InterCall full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Very laid back atmosphere. Most of the coworkers are good people with big hearts. Good Benefits with a decent work/life balance.

    Cons

Compensation, promotions and personal growth....you will not get any of these in certain departments. I've received less than 2% raise overall, for last 3yrs, with an excellent performance rating every year. Only way to receive a wage increase you must either threaten to leave (this only works, if your childish middle managers like you) or you move around the company to a different manager.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Find competent Managers, who can encourage and build up morale. If company is doing well, those with excellent or above performance evals deserve a fair wage increase annually. Company needs to stop losing good employees and keeping dead weight; also, hire competent employees versus cheap labor at a professional level.
