    Pros

A good company that really cares about their employees they are constantly asking for feedback on how they can do better they have a whole week dedicated to thanking their employees, lots of employee events, flexible work schedules, work from home and awesome work/life balance. Extremely competitive pay

    Cons

Sometimes they like to cut costs by not back filling when people leave the company. This can lead to very high workloads for some employees. Also it takes forever for HR to do anything. Org structure changes are frequent.

    Advice to Management

Don't cut costs by not back filling

    Pros

Active company, giving and supporting community

    Cons

As a contractor a person is excluded from a number of company activities and depending on the department your contract is concluded with with little head-up.

    Pros

IHG allows you room to be yourself. Hours are flexible, summer-time even allows free Fridays, and the people to work with are great! benefits are above and beyond.

    Cons

Personally I believe it's a little difficult to communicate between departments in a building so large.

    Pros

No matter which team you work for, there will most likely be free food at least twice a week. You will gain a lot of weight working here especially because work life balance is awesome since the work is minimum and productivity of teams are low.

    Cons

Company only values employees from a certain demography. There is a lot of favoritism in all teams. People are handed promotions outside of annual reviews and promotions are pre-determined without consideration to performance.

There are quite a few org changes typically involving favorite employees without consideration to the projects at hand and their impacts. Management does not really care for employees.

Most town halls are a waste of time as senior leadership team cannot even name their important projects. The work life balance is awesome because there are lot more people and less work. Most projects are managed poorly and no one has control over what is going on in any project. When projects do not succeed, all excess employees hired will be let go and the favorites will remain and the cycle starts. There is no true innovation happening at this place.

Most reviews for IHG are positive because they are from front desk employees at hotels. Sales/Marketing/Technology teams who work at corporate do not have good benefits and have to go through heavy politics every day.

    Advice to Management

Bring in diversity across all levels of the company. Provide more career opportunities with less outsourcing. Do not allow managers to pull in more than one or a maximum of two employees from any team or from their previous teams. Link promotions with performance as opposed to using favoritism.

    Pros

IHG truly tries to do the right thing for its people and teams. Huge focus on leadership skills & education. The company is focused on improving its brands and becoming #1. Lots of opportunities to move around the business, lead projects and learn all about different aspects of hospitality, technology, franchising & marketing .

    Cons

Quite a bit organizational swirl and constant debate prevents things from actually getting done. Senior leadership changes frequently so the team feels to be in a constant re-org state and often doing the same things over and over in different formats. Teams try to take on too much and don't succeed and being great at just a few things. Ravina complex (traffic in complex at rush hour, onsite cafe, office conditions) not ideal.

    Advice to Management

Find ways to bring back the passion for IHG from its people. Focus on common thread areas for all teams to rally around and feel the pride of being part of IHG that existed for so many years. Make decisions and run with them.
