I have been working at InterContinental Hotels Group part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Company culture, perks and hotel discounts, good high-status business clientele, pay servers $4.50 way over the minimum wage… I like most everyone who works there including upper management

    Cons

Some months are slower than others, which is why they have the rate at $4.50 I think...

I have been working at InterContinental Hotels Group full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

This hotel provides all potential for career development. The HR team is fantastic.

The Food & Beverage outlets are under the best in the city, including the Michelin-starred restaurant Luce.
Definitely a great place to work.

    Cons

There is an unusual turn around in the upper management, which slows down the improving process as every new leader has his own ideas.

I worked at InterContinental Hotels Group full-time

    Pros

A great global company with well recognized brands. Opportunity to really impact customers in a positive way. A lots of new opportunity for personal and professional growth.

    Cons

The management is one of the worst I have seen. There is constant churn at the management level. Everything is politically driven. The company make money being in the travel industry, hence there isn't a great disruption that the management has to worry about. A lot of people at the Top 2 level probably have no clue what they are doing. Everything takes years to get done.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire people at management level who care of people. Kill the politics, it's really causing you to lose hundreds of millions of dollars in incremental revenue because nothing can be done in a timely manner. Improve HR functions and reward people who want to make the company successful.

    Pros

Decent benefits, some good unexpected benefits like free paid days off/extra money.

    Cons

Some of the current managers have unrealistic expectations.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try explaining what you need to your employees instead of waiting till they do something wrong and getting them in trouble.
