Pros
Interesting product space, good co-workers. Overall this is a very interesting space to be in. VOIP realy is the future of telephony, ININ is one of the leaders in that space. If you like systems-level programming this is neat stuff.
Cons
It's in Indianapolis. If you like the midwest then it's great. If you don't then it's like living in a crazy religous version of america that I thought only existed in tv and movies.
Advice to Senior Management
Overall management is good, but tend to switch priorities and projects wildly. Sometimes you need patience for things to bear fruit.
Pros
Own office as developer, excellent health benefits plan. technical management, and great employee morale; excellent challenges as employee, and company is small so you can get to know Senior Management very well. Flat down management is great.
Cons
It's based in Indianapolis which means you can be disconnected from Silicon Valley, extremely .NET, vacation package starting out is only 10 days per year, as other employers offer 15, but more does acure within short time
Advice to Senior Management
Keep Life/Balance in place, ensure overtime pay for employees who work over 50 hrs, and keep the existing culture which currently thrives in Interactive Intelligence, make Interactive Intelligence to become a number one employer in USA
Pros
Got the opportunity to learn new technology as Interactive Intelligence is an innovative company. It does listen to its customers for new product features. It offered me a career change into Telecommunications and the world of Call Center Solutions. It also brought me lots of new International contacts. It is a challenging job
Cons
Even though I did put in a lot effort and overtime it was hardly recognized. After being promised certain things by 2 managers of the senior management, they failed to deliver their promises when I called upon them. The way an American company handles situation in Europe also does not deserve a price. When the company made the decision to move their office from France to the UK, it slashed most of its valuable employees. The company does not really understand the European rules.
Advice to Senior Management
When you discuss certain things with employees to do, don't back track and make clear what are the boundries. When the employee asks, respond and don't let them in the dark. Even when the response is negative, it is better then nothing at all.
Pros
Amazing work environment. The people here obviously care about everyone within the company, not just the upper echelons of management. It's a wonderful place to work and it really shows how much the employees care about what they do and really believe in the product they support, however indirect the role might be.
Cons
Being a new company, it is experiencing a few growing pains of finding the right place for people within the company and allocating all resources to the most appropriate locations, but those issues are being overcome on a daily basis.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep up the great work and never stop believing in your employees.
