I worked at IntercontinentalExchange full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Pay was not market but promised bonuses and stock accommodated for that, although the promised bonuses are less than stated I hear.

    Cons

Want to work 50-60+ hours a week, weekends, and holidays with no recognition from management, then try here. No work/life balance. No recognition = no advancement.

Chaos with no real leadership on the floor

I worked at IntercontinentalExchange full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Benefits are some of the best in the industry

    Cons

"Flat culture" they say, could be ideal in a smaller org, but here it has only led to 0 leadership on the floor.

Seasoned employees come in late, take 2 hr lunches, key projects fall weeks & months behind with no consequences.

No training, no on boarding, you have to figure it out yourself.

No work life balance, you are expected to work 50+ hrs a week, expect to have meetings scheduled on your lunch break.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Hold people accountable,
Assign leaders who can lead & manage appropriately,
    Provide work like balance.

    Cons

    Pros

Energetic entrepreneurial work place. Lots of challenging projects, smart people, interesting people. Large company but are work closely with all levels of management.

    Cons

Challenging timelines, have to do a lot of multi tasking, increased government regulation which slows down progress.

I worked at IntercontinentalExchange full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Pay was pretty decent. Cash and stock bonuses are nice (albeit always less than promised), if you stay through the vesting period.

    Cons

Management will ask you to do questionable things. Internal transfers are very rare because there is a major emphasis on headcount, as opposed to actual deliverables. Career growth is only available in a few chosen areas. Leadership is nonexistent in a few of the divisions, which leads to low morale and even lower output.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Your culture has been subsumed by the NYSE. Badmouthing employees who have left or transferred internally is unprofessional, and leads the team(s) to believe that you're more concerned about headcount than actual talent. Incompetence is rampant, your better employees are either voluntarily leaving, or accepting severance packages because they are not interested in relocating to Atlanta.
