I have been working at Intercruises Shoreside & Port Services part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

I only worked at the airport and a small bit at hotels but found my manager & supervisors great to work with. Since it was seasonal, they tried to cover time i needed off for summer classes.

    Cons

Again, its seasonal and the ships come in each and every weekend. So it's hard for family vacations.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

How about a raise each year we come back?

I worked at Intercruises Shoreside & Port Services part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

They provide part-time work and very short scheduled hours so if you only want a few hours a week of work this is the place. Fellow agents were wonderful and very nice. Not much down time so you don't get bored.

    Cons

They had almost no training, management never wanted to hear anything from the employees, we weren't allowed breaks when we were on a shift, they make you buy your own parking pass for the port and most of your uniform. I don't think any of the supervisors ever learned any of the agents names. The pay was really low, no benefits. Management was always in a bad mood, and there computers had technical problems frequently.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your employees, they actually have some good ideas on ways to solve problems and make processes better. Take time to learn who your employees are, people will work harder when they feel valued. Being a nameless face in a crowd of agents does not make you feel valued.

    Pros

    Tips, Ease of Job Requirements

    Cons

They constantly talk about sending people home due to uniform violations but they never follow through. There have been countless times where staff has been denied a lunch break. They refuse to give people a break even if they have been working for 8+ straight hours. Holiday compensation involves only $2 extra per hour.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat your employees the way they should be treated. It is within their best interest to get their act together.

I worked at Intercruises Shoreside & Port Services part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Once the boarding gate opens then it's busy work until all the passengers have boarded the ship

    Cons

Work hours are inconsistent. Less than part-time hours. If the passengers have all boarded then ticket agents are sent home. Nepotism- a lot of friends and relatives of the managers work here.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Not all the employees that work for you are not related to you nor consider you as a close friend. This should be a more formal business environment instead of a "mom and pop" operation.

I worked at Intercruises Shoreside & Port Services part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Majority of the returning employees are very friendly.
The crew members on the ship are quite friendly as well.

    Cons

Management tends to masks things are go wrong or they tend to just fire people even though the managers were the one who were wrong. One of the managers RW tends to care about the security of her job instead of backing an employee up when representatives from cruises yell at us.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    stop thinking about only yourself
