The people at Intermountain are friendly and always encouraging improvement and excellent care.

    Patient Care Assistant (Former Employee)
    Ogden, UT

ProsFriendly and good work environment. Employee's receive recognition for hard work and are encouraged and supported in educational aspirations. Continuing education modules are assigned quarterly to keep you informed and educated. Monthly skills pass-off's are helpful to keep your skills fresh and up to date. Staff meetings are fun, interactive, and you are compensated for your time. Supervisors are understanding and willing to work with your schedule.

ConsCompensation is lower than desired. You can find better pay for the same job with other companies, however, it is hard to find a company that measures up in other aspects.

    Great Place to Work!

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsGreat Benefits, Great Coworkers, Diverse opportunities within the corp. When you have a good manager you can grow and grow and grow --if not you can be micromanaged to death. The y do care about the employees and it shows.

    ConsSome micromanagement within various departments.

    Best Employer In The Country

    Supply Chain (Current Employee)
    Salt Lake City, UT

    Pros- Phenomenal culture
    - Outside the box thinking is encouraged
    - Transparent leadership with goals clearly outlined and achievable
    - Leadership that 'lives' their mission and vision
    - Company supported training and education allowing employees to improve competencies
    - Where else can you work knowing that you are part of making health care better at the local and national level?

Cons- Positional bottlenecks can exist which limits advancement at times. When advancement requires a move to a position held by a long tenured employee, you can hit the flesh ceiling. Need non-linear progression paths in more roles
    - Pay is below national averages in non-clinical business related roles...although I list this as a con, I believe it is offset by working for such a great organization. When everyone wants to work at your organization, supply and demand forces weigh in and less pay can be the result. This in no way indicates that it is less fulfilling as a career however.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep doing what you are doing. Your employee base believes in you and I know that based on informational sessions your HR groups host, you believe in us as well and are frequently soliciting how we can help make it better.

ProsCareer growth, down to earth upper management, and advancement. The facility I work for is awesome. Everyone is so friendly and the community feel of it is fantastic!

ConsI have really enjoyed working for Intermountain Healthcare. They are a great employer, the pay is a little less being not-for-profit but the benefits make it worth it.

    Great Company

    Associate Software Engineer (Current Employee)
    Murray, UT

ProsGreat work environment. Friendly co-workers. Flexible schedules

ConsPaid Time Off can only be used in 8-hour increments - so no half days. Paid Time Off is based on a weekly schedule so extra hours this week does not mean hours off the next week. (But extra Monday hours can mean hours off that Friday).
