I worked at Intern Sushi full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

-Remember working with some good people.
-Worked from home, so hours were pretty good.
    -Good experience out of college.
-I enjoyed speaking with the CEO, she is very ambitious and intelligent. (Have some criticisms of her below)

    Cons

-While a few employees were fun, intelligent people to work with, most were just lazy and hired by an awful sales manager. He was fired a few months after I joined the company.
-The product is all over the place. CEO is extremely creative and hard working, but lacks the ability to differentiate "wants" vs. "needs.
-With above being said, the product simply isn't feasible for large organizations, or as a competitor to existing services.
-Poor business model. By being a site for interns, you eliminate a MASSIVE amount of potential users. Critical mass for the product is probably impossible to meet.
    -Poor pay. Poor company communication.

  2. Management was a mess, employee turnover was through the roof.

I worked at Intern Sushi as a contractor

    Pros

Shared offices with Mark Gordon Co. a very exciting production company. The idea behind the company is good, so it may be successful and have room for growth.

    Cons

Management was disastrous. Employees were under-utilized, often spending weeks on a project that would be scrapped. Lots of office politics for a small company, no interest in employee input or morale

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Address Middle Management issues and employee turnover. Lots of personal issues and uncertainty from above are distracting.

Management has so much growth and maturity to do. Think Mean Girls, the silicon beach version.

    I worked at Intern Sushi

    Pros

Great vision and could be a strong brand. New hires are always brilliant with great ideas and strong work ethic.

    Cons

Employee turn around rate is unheard of. There is a culture of over-promising and under-delivering and it seriously harms employee morale.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If the cycle of employees continues to go from happy and motivated to dissatisfied and miserable, it's time to invest in some management training.
