    Pros

Good pay and benefits. If you like to work with your hands and enjoy a fast paced work environment, it is a great job experience.

    Cons

Work is not guaranteed. Lots of politics, favoritism. potential to move up is limited and even if you do, politics and change of staff can lead to an end to you upward mobility.

    Advice to Management

The big picture reminds me of our federal government. Bartering away on behalf of the workforce may be the status quo but we all know that compromising the rights and benefits of good hardworking people to gain some personal leverage is a sin itself.

The I.B.E.W helped me to advance within my trade. Without it I'd wouldn't be working a Civil Service Job. With paid vacation and sick days.Earning 80k a year for 10 years now.

    Pros

Invaluable learning opportunities, topped with hands on experience. Learning theory that makes you a very well rounded electrician.

    Cons

We are losing the market share and need to fight to keep and gain more. "Brotherhood" is what it's all about.

    Advice to Management

Stop looking at the bottom line and remember the sweat and effort these men and women put into there jobs.

    Pros

Pay and benefits are great when you are working. Great training and lots to learn about the industry, if you can get in good with a company then you are set.

    Cons

Time is money and you are just a number to the bean counters. When your job is done, expected to be laid off. This is why I left, couldn't afford to work only 4 months out of the year! No paid vacation and not many holidays.

    Advice to Management

    Bring back some market share.

    Pros

When work is plentiful, everything runs smoothly

    Cons

Misogynistic antiquated brotherhood still runs it's business like it holds the lion's share of the electrical market. It doesn't.

    Advice to Management

On a local, regional national and international level, more minorities and women need to be recruited, promoted and supported.
