    Pros

The company offered a good work and life balance. The SF office is situated in a great location within the San Francisco tech community. Lots of tech meetups within walking distance.

    Cons

Co-workers do not have a passion for technology. Technologically the company is slow to embrace modern web technologies.

    Pros

The people I work with are awesome! Everyone is easy to work with, is helpful, is optimistic, and works hard. The office location is great!

    Cons

While the office I work in is great, upper management has no clue what they are doing. The only thing they know how to do is arbitrarily cut valuable employees to "cut costs" and fudge a few extra numbers so they don't look as horrible to investors. Meanwhile the employees which are left have to pick up the slack of people that have been let go or have left for better opportunities with the expectation that all the deadlines are still to be met. But who cares about the employees or if the company will survive when you still get paid millions and have a golden parachute that would probably be enough for 10-20 people to retire on. I feel like if I worked somewhere and did as horrible of a job as our upper management does here, I would get fired, and probably sued, or maybe worse... Not here though. Here our upper management still gets to enjoy their huge paychecks and bonuses while flying first class while the company slowly implodes due to their decisions. If you do some research on the board of directors and previous companies our CEO has been at it will give you a good idea of what is going, what happened, and what the future holds for this company. Very sad to see such a great company be destroyed.

    Advice to Management

    Go home... you're drunk?

    Pros

Cool coworkers, relaxed environment, feeding the staff ever few days. Good pay.

    Cons

Tracking and recording your work seemed to take longer than the work itself. Not sure what, if anything some middle management is working on. The products are for gambling.

    Pros

There are some great people working at IGT, at interactive we have all the right ideas, some very smart coworkers. Good work life balance here, no crazy hours other than emergencies.

    Cons

There is so much political power playing at this company, it is almost impossible to get anything done. Senior management are mostly from other industries and are pretty clueless. The amount of time spent here trying to answer the same questions over and over is unbelievable. The policy of recruiting management from outside the company means career progression is almost nonexistent, if you want a promotion you pretty much have to leave.

    Advice to Management

IGT is a depressing place, there is so much potential here. Try investing in your people to create loyalty and harness your workers ambitions, instead of relying on non-competes and just replacing people when they leave.

    Pros

Great games that are more engaging to players than games in other genres. Best in the industry. Big upside when games do well and partners do well. Gambling is everywhere. It will make its way to the US eventually (legally). Once that happens, working in the SF office will be crazy fun. The work we do is equivalent to the work being done in a startup. If this is what excites you, this is the place to be. Additionally, the salaries are not bad. Plus, when you get promoted to a specific level, certain bonuses kick in--decent bonuses.

    Cons

Too many re-orgs. Change is fine. Embracing change is fine. Re-orgs every 3 months or less? Probably the biggest joke amongst the teams. This makes it difficult for the teams to not only "FOCUS" on execution but also get behind their leaders. Each new initiative is thought of as a joke because clearly the direction will change--again--in a few months. The other downside is that there are a ton of self-entitled, over-paid employees who think the company's sole job is to make them happy. This is also a joke, because the company's job is to make money! I'm a shareholder. I want the company to make money. It makes it difficult to work there, especially for new employees, because there are too many jaded, unhappy, grumpy, complaining employees. People need to take a step back and re-evaluate their situation and just get real. If they don't want to be at the company, they should just leave.

    Advice to Management

Each division should have a "labs" unit that researches new products, prototypes these products and is given the opportunity to pitch this to management. If the idea is good and makes sense, then listen to your employees. Don't hire a consultant to come in to give basically the same pitch that the employees made previously. It shows a lack of trust in your team and will cause a small exodus of your most valued talent pool.

    Pros

Working in downtown SF. Working with great people. Some project can be interesting. Some managers are great to work for.

    Cons

Leadership is not competent and its vision is not trusted. Leadership doesn't have trust in employees and treats them without respect. work hours are not flexible. work and life balance is not good.

    Advice to Management

Leadership in SF Office recently changed and I really hope that new leadership mistakes committed by previous leadership.
