I worked at International Profit Associates full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Training is exellent if you can hack it. Very stressful.

    Cons

You travel constantly and I mean constantly, every week and get put in situations where you are not really wanted. Have to upsell your time to be recognized.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Loose the high pressure call center techniques. Your clients are stressed enough considering they are going bankrupt.

I worked at International Profit Associates full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Brutal but excellent intense training program.

    Cons

If you are one of the 5 to 10% that are still standing at the end of their training, you are sent out to clients that are oversold through harsh sales tactics. They expect you to continue the harsh collection process. This does not align well with their stated client orientation. Travel is horrendous and consumes your life.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider a more constructive sales process and less travel for consultants.

    Pros

Providing clients with solutions is very rewarding.

    Cons

Emphasis on collections so Mr Burgess can screw his associates.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reach into your own pocket and make your employees whole by paying them. Minimize the amount of time you are holding on employees for payroll and expenses.

    Pros

The possibility is there to make Money

    Cons

Ethics, not allowed to see client after YOU set appt. for Consultant. They badger and belittle the client until they agree to have the Consultant come in.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Clients do actually need IPA's service but try a more honest and disciplined approach.

    Pros

Worked with C-level Executive to provide them with consulting services on how to increase their overall tax and profit position Usually increased tax returns10% to 40% and increased profits by 3% to 7%.

    Cons

The main downfall with the company was that it was not a local company Many of the local companies wanted to work with a local company that understood local issue.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Set -up local office that companies could identify with

    Pros

You learn a lot about small businesses and management consulting quickly.

    Cons

Very high pressure, and middle management use profanity like crazy.

    Pros

The owner and son are good people even though it might not seem like it. There are a lot of good people in this company with good hearts who want things to be better but are afraid to speak up for change and feel stuck because they have stayed too long and don't want to let their friends/family down.

    Cons

Everyone lies constantly. Management does not want to make changes to improve the flow of work or environment. Questionable leadership and ethics in key positions in the organization.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Question your employees work, ethics and teamwork ability. If they lack, let them go!!! There are other fish in the sea!! Stop gauging people with the poor benefits structure! Pay people on time!!!!!!

    Pros

You can make money there if, and only if, you are promoted.

    Cons

Obviously, this company operates under mulitple names for a reason. For the most part, its a boiler room operation. If you set up an "expert consultant" to come in, you may get assigned a consultant who is ineffective. The money is in the consultation, and the followup services.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Ethics. Either you have it or you don't. Operating under multilple names, obviously means there's a LOT to be improved.

    Pros

Typically good paying job, but it depends on the position. You will always be busy, lots of work to do.

    Cons

Completely sales driven organization with no care for clients or their needs/cash flow. Although the pay seems high, the health benefits are horrible and very expensive. You pay for most of it on your own. There are no morals and ethics in this company.
