ProsI get to work with amazing people. I became good friends with most of the people in my department and everyone is easy to get along with. You learn to be very independent and they are very flexible with work hours.

ConsInternet Brands is a decent place to work, however the pay is low compared to other companies.

Advice to Senior ManagementThe management should consider on increasing compensation since it is pretty low. Turnover is high because their employees know they could get better pay in other companies.

Pros1. Great working environment/nice views
2. Good work/life balance with a casual work environment
3. Great Management, co-workers are phenomenal
4. Good place to start your career and learn new things
5. A lot of autonomy for employees

Cons1. Pay is on the lower end when compared to other companies in the same industry
2. Opportunity for advancement is limited
3. Must be able to take initiative and work independently or else this company isn't for you

Advice to Senior ManagementManagement was amazing, friendly, and intelligent. Pay should be at industry standards (I strongly believe this is the only real negative about the company).

ProsIt's a great resume fodder for experience.

ConsThe company is run on interns. Seriously, there's a dude that works there for two years getting paid 15 bucks an hour with only 34 hours, because they don't want to give him benefits. There are at least 50 interns and at most 100 at the headquarter.

I interned there and the second day during a meeting, one of the higher up, was talking crap about interns. No apology or anything, just made some lame excuses when he realized that there was an intern there. And he's a higher up! There's a joke around HR for interns, non real worker or something along that line. People that are in the knows, would give you this knowingly smile, that yeah, you're getting used. Higher up in the programming departments talk crap about you behind your backs all the time. If you have any worth they'll act nice just to try to keep you around for 15 bucks. I'm not being paranoid. This is real.

They'll hire anyone to code, with any degree. They are very strict about their interviews but I've seen a broad ranges of degree working there as a programmer.

People come and leave all the time. The only one that stays are the interns that are still hopeful that someday they will get offer a job there starting at $36k for a programmer position! Please, remember that this is a resume fodder job. Don't ever think you'll move up from an intern position. Actively apply for position. Once you learned anything at all from this job, start applying, start studying.

Depending on the department. Say PHP, you won't learn anything. You won't learn anything new that add values to your skill in your career. For the Java department you might be able to learn stuff not PHP.

There is no culture in this company. People don't really talk to people at all. It's all business sense. The java guys are more social but they usually talk how mess up this company is, for the low wages and no benefits. But overall, no one talks unless you're an out going person and make an effort.

They will milk you for everything for you got for 15 bucks an hour for 34 hours a week for no benefits. You can be those silly interns that stays there for a year or more hoping that one day you'll get that $36,000 position. But don't hold your breathe. Welcome to a soulless company. Don't expect much, you're just a worker that earn a paycheck. People who are push over would stay in this company. The smart ones leave once they got enough experiences to put on their resume. 3-6 months sounds about right, if you worked their for a year start looking for another job.

I've heard stories of people rage quit all the time.

Please remember. You are not a slave. Don't not be a pushover. Actively look for other job opportunities, it doesn't cost much but time. You work 34 hours a day, well you have a day or two out of the week to look for a job/job interview. This is only temporary as a resume fodder. 3-6 months or a 1 year max is good enough on the resume.

I believe some of these reviews are rigged. If you check out salaries you get roughly industry average for programmers. But If you read some of the negative review you will see that it is way below industry standard salary wise.

Advice to Senior ManagementIf you're going to go around talking crap about interns, make sure to do it behind theirs back. Not in front of them.

NA for Bob Brisco, if he exist I never saw him. It's a big company.

Proscasual dress code, ping pong table

ConsSales sweatshop, no room for advancement, lack of professionalism. Very poor benefits, below-average salary. Company is cheap and skimps out on providing useful technical resources needed for successful relationship building and ad sales. Company has no relationships with any ad agencies and fails in that arena because of this. And, they are compacent about it. Expensive vending machines.

Advice to Senior ManagementUse your brain, create an environment where employees are encouraged to do better. Give better incentives

ProsYou get to work on lots of high traffic sites that you can't get at most other companies. The hours are flexible, and management doesn't breathe down your neck like at smaller companies.

ConsThe pay is way lower than industry average. There is not much room for advancement, since they just have webmasters, devs, and senior devs. The difference in pay between the 3 is negligible. The work can be tedious at times, unless there is a big project (once or twice per year)

Advice to Senior ManagementBreak up the teams so that project managers have their devs as direct reports. Let them do the reviews and give raises. Currently 2 people oversee like a hundred devs.

ProsSome nice people here, you get to bond while you complain

ConsVery bad pay
Lots of backstabbing
No career advancement opportunities
Basically a giant call center
Management is only here because they can't get jobs at a real company
No one buys cars online

Advice to Senior ManagementSell the company to someone that will treat employees nicely and offer them a fair wage.

Pros-Great people (I get along with everyone in my dept. and we get together outside of work)
-Management is very competent and constantly communicate with employees
-The company is focused on creating websites with great content
-The hours are ideal for work/life balance with weekends off and no late nights
-Employees are given a lot of autonomy

Cons-The pay is lower than comparable positions at other companies
-If you're a person who needs to be told exactly what to do, this is probably not the company for you because you're given a lot of autonomy. If you don't like to be micromanages, and enjoy having some freedom at work, you'll be very happy here.

Advice to Senior ManagementThe communication and leadership is great, and management shows a lot of respect to employees, but I'd like to know more about how each position serves the organization.

Pros* Phenomenal peers - you will have the opportunity to work with some of the most intelligent and talented individuals in your field

* Autonomous work atmosphere - allows employees to be creative in finding solutions to problems

* Rewarding work - amazing place to learn about the e-commerce industry at the highest levels

* Great management - you will learn several new things from top management since there will be lots of exposure and interaction with them

* Awesome location - El Segundo, CA; you can see the beach from our building

Cons* Rigorous hiring process - You may have to go through 2 or 3 different rounds of interviews for higher-level positions. Meeting with the recruiter, the team, hiring manager, VP's, and C-level execs. This might not be much of a CON in the long-run though.

Advice to Senior ManagementYou're doing a great job! Keep up the good work.
