I have been working at Interserve full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good team. Contract . Good supervisors . Training. Development . Good employment contracts. Acceptable rates

    Cons

The policies are not strictly followed. There is favouritism . Manager promoting friend not giving chance to the rest of the staff

    Advice to Management

Listening to staff. Adhere to the polocies and ensure that they count for the management as well not only for the cleaners.

I have been working at Interserve part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I like meeting new people, when covering other Interserve contracts. Like my area manger, nice guy. Love the Boots team, I clean for.

    Cons

The downside with the cleaner's, is we get min wage. Still waiting on 24 days holiday pay from last year. I booked holidays for this week, just days off, said i'd work the Monday & take the rest of the week off, but I've to cover my own holidays, I've to work this Thurs & make the rest of the other hours up. next week, I've been with the company, near 3 years, I've had cover twice. Some old man, that I heard was crap anyway, he 1 day, plus the old area manger I had, he covered 2 days, not together.

    Advice to Management

We need a pay rise. Need someone to cover my holidays, I cover other Boots/Argos contracts

I worked at Interserve full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good Employer, OK salary, training opportunities

    Cons

Benefits are OK, but other FM companies often offer slightly better packages

I have been working at Interserve full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I could easily cheat with hours, easy to get holidays, days off, no responsibility at all, great atmosphere amongst the others - Manager sooo easy to handle, she doesn't really know how to manage

    Cons

I had to work from 6am till 5pm (sometimes even more!!), also saturday and sunday, with 1 hour break. I had to work with a bunch of old people, most of them Indian ladies, ever so kind, but really they should be at home, taking care of their grand children, not cleaning a shop floor. Most of them couldn't even speak proper English. I was also suppose to take care of the customer service within the Uxbridge Shopping Centre, not easy to combine with my daily job as a cleaner/supervisor. Low pay rate, long hours.

    Advice to Management

Change the direct manager/supervisor of the shop floor, she is rubbish! Doesn't know how to manage a team, doesn't really care. Check the cleaners, they are all cheating with their hours, logging in on time, logging out way to late!!!

I have been working at Interserve full-time

    Pros

Very few - new injection of talent has made a marked difference already so fingers crossed the company keeps improving Pay isn't bad - if you can work in the environment

    Cons

Boys club culture whereby people in the organisation get promoted through slapping the back of the management, rather that being suited for the positions. Lack of accountability at middle management level Bullying tactics, aggressive culture where talking over people is the norm Left hand doesn't know (or care) what the right hand is doing Lack of professionalism at all levels

    Advice to Management

Start looking at the ludicrous management structure and actually promote people with ability, rather than keeping those in the organisation that really should have gone a long time ago. Understand the talent at lower levels - recognize them!

    Pros

Good and stable company. Good benefits

    Cons

Unless one speaks out, their performance can't speak for them. Employees aren't like politicians that they have to speak out to be voted for

    Advice to Management

Consider everyone for higher positions regardless of race. Widen company car choices

    Pros

    Company Car was pretty good

    Cons

Benefits in Kind not correctly sent to HMRC resulting in complex tax errors even after leaving the company. One hand does not know what the other is doing Far too many mini empires, Kings of their own P&L who have no interest in moving the company forward just their bottom line and bonus People in senior positions who have zero idea of the field they work in Poorest Client/Customer focus I have ever witnessed

    Advice to Management

Just keep doing what you are doing, the talent will leave, the procrastinators remain.

    Pros

Lots of opportunities, and senior management exposure, given chance to travel and support additional project work

    Cons

Low pay, high workload, expectation that graduates are to earn a seat at the table, no financial support when required to relocate

    Advice to Management

Develop the teams providing placements to graduates to ensure grads are given challenging work. Reconsider salary and benchmark - £21,000 is low graduate salary with no bonus and no financial support for relocation, additionally no LWA (London Weighting Allowance)
