Intersil Anonymous in Palm Bay, FL:   (Past Employee - 2007)

Pros

Geographic location can't be beat if you like sun, beach, fishing, diving & sailing

Cons

The very thin profits create an environment that has frequent RIFs, adverse pay actions and limited advancement.

Advice to Senior Management

Some clever technology many years ago but poor marketing and product differentiation marginalizes this semiconductor device company. Intersil is like an old cigar with a one or two more puffs. very sad.

Intersil Electrical Engineer in Milpitas, CA:   (Current Employee)

1 of 1 people found this helpful

Pros

There are some extremely smart design/factory applications engineers here; upper management seems informed and relatively competent. Very friendly atmosphere and morale is OK, probably better than at most of my friends' employers.

Cons

Our design cycles take longer than they should, yet for some reason ICs are often released with (sometimes known) issues.

Advice to Senior Management

We should be spending more time/money to ensure we're shipping state-of-the-art ICs so we can raise our margins, rather than releasing parts with issues and/or that are on-par with our competition. Yes, the economy sucks, but our stock will continue declining until we come up with some really brilliant new designs.
