    Pros

New equipment, good pay. .32-.38cpm for company refer. great communication for a truck company. plenty of miles.

    Cons

no chain up pay, bad layover and detention pay.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

consider paying employees for chaining up if you are going to tell employees in orientation you require chaining.

I have been working at Interstate Distributor

    Pros

New Kenworth T680s are nice. Runs average 6~800 miles one way. Pay & benefits aren't bad.

    Cons

Account managers love to use email for communicating. If I wanted a office job I would've applied for one. I'm a truck driver. Pick up the phone and communicate with your drivers! I waited for a email response from my manager over a hour and a half. By then I made my own decision to handle the situation's best fit. Computers in trucks and time management don't play well with me.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I understand you have 30~40 drivers on your board which I think is ridiculous, but someone has to come up with a better plan. Sitting and waiting on email replies in a big truck is the dumbest thing I've experienced in my 12yrs of trucking. When working for large trucking companies, this is what you deal with.

    Pros

Some of the best equipment on the road. They push hard for safety. They have safety and mileage bonuses. For the most part, work well with drivers.

    Cons

But...for a company always instilling safety, they are constantly pushing tight runs on you. And as any driver will tell you, when you rush, mistakes will happen. Something you'll even hear through their safety conversations. And yet...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stand completely behind your safety goals.

    Pros

Not to much to say here. Have been extremely unhappy. Trainers/ mentors are great but they're the only ones that are any good

    Cons

Low miles, low pay. Many many empty promises made. Pay roll dept and dispatch need to work together better

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More miles, get everyone on same page

I worked at Interstate Distributor full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

My coworkers were the best part of being there. They are the ones that keep the company going forward.

    Cons

Too many managers who put their careers ahead of their direct reports.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take the time and listen to the people doing the job. They are the front line that the customer sees and deals with. There are a lot of people with good ideas who get no support from their managers.

I have been working at Interstate Distributor

    Pros

They (leabon TN) have good decade run but unfortunately since they don't have good planning or people skills they will be losing account here soon, (customer has already mentioned told me)

    Cons

Horrible people skills, poor management, they miss lead you on pay, they preach safety but tell you how to keep under 5mph to deliver your load 2 in morning during your 10hr break so they can get you dispatched again...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Train dispatcher on people skills (you can catch more Flys with honey than vinegar) be up front about pay don't hide behind bonus, and quit hassling driver's about idle trucks if you want to save fuel, then put APU units on your trucks, how would you like me to come and turn your AC off at your house while your trying to sleep!!!!
