I have been working at Intertek full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

You are not stuck working the same thing over and over. You get to work on different projects and try new things. The company will provide training that is needed and takes great care of the employees. Also have a big group that you can reach out.

    Cons

Sometimes you are thrown onto a project that you don't know anything about and they expect you to handle it like you've been working on it for a while. Not too bad, but does offer some challenges. Also, the timelines are sometimes too quick. You are expected to get 2 weeks of work done in 1 week.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Just know that work done is fast, cheap and has good quality: pick two. You cannot have all three.

I have been working at Intertek full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

4 weeks of paid time off. The people that I work with are great.

    Cons

Too focused on profits and not quality. Very high turnover. Employees are not treated very well which explains the high turnover. Compensation is below average.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Senior management needs to be more proactive and focus on retaining employees to maintain a high level of expertise instead of only caring how much money can be made.

I worked at Intertek full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The team I was in charge of building there during my 4.5 years there was the best team within the company until the outsourcing was forced prematurely.

    Cons

Very poor leadership. the CFO (who just left) threw the company in excessive debt with a outsourcing of IT, HR and finance without any standard processes being in place prior. Their estimated costs soared out of control and were millions over budget (more than likely still are). Hires and promotions were not completed based on competency but "they are my buddy". the IT extreme failure over the past two years is a direct result of that.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Clean house. You have too many chiefs in Finance HR and IT, and very few of them are experienced in their fields. All of the IT Leadership needs to be let go, they are not able to complete their tasks and they are consistently over budget. The good leadership left or were asked to leave so the crap can run the ship... straight into an iceberg.
