I worked at Interthinx full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Pay was good and location easy to get to. Company acquired by First American Financial, so unknown about benefits.

    Cons

People were good but work environment not good. Upper management is faceless and has not concern for subordinates.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Show some empathy and genuine consideration to your employees. Don't treat them like they are just an employee number. Training was the worst I've ever had. It was not done by trainers but other employees who had no experience in training. The last President and corporate staff came to our office on two occasions and lunch was provided by them which was nice. But, they never said Hi to anyone. They'd walk past you like you were invisible.

I have been working at Interthinx full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Interthinx trusted me to do the job I was hired to do. I did not have someone constantly looking over my shoulder. There were opportunities for growth and the pay was fair.

    Cons

The training provided was lacking. For a new hire, it would appear to haphazard and unorganized. Also, too many people were allowed to just go through the motions without being held accountable for their mistakes.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management should really take a good look at the leadership in place. They are not what I would consider experts and they are moving forward with no real plan in place.

I worked at Interthinx full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Treated with professionalism, casual work environment, high pace, myriad of projects.

    Cons

Lack of communication, senior management doesn't communicate well down the ladder, or immediate supervisors/managers refuse to communicate to subordinates.

    Pros

Beginning years were good, when we had a good team.

    Cons

All the great employees left and the company didn't even bother to replace them. So business as usual without any team....good luck

I have been working at Interthinx

    Pros

Wasn't mico-managed, laid back environment, donuts every friday. I loved working with my team. It felt more like family then co workers. My managers was very attentive to the needs of her employees.

    Cons

The work could be tedious, Rumors spread fast like being in high school, higher ups didn't communicate efficiently.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Just let the employees know what is going on and if they should be concerned about being laid off. Other than that it was a great company.

I have been working at Interthinx full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Can't think of a single one.

    Cons

There is an "in" club for positive growth, employee value and respect. High school culture. Those in leadership are still figuring out how to lead.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop winging it. Just because you're in leadership doesn't mean you've learned to lead. Grow up.

I worked at Interthinx full-time for more than a year

    Pros

They are willing to hire recent grads, and are fairly organized in terms of development process

    Cons

Management assigns work without taking into account developer estimates, and generally assigns programming work with the assumption that you spend 8 hours a day developing. So you have to work 10 hours a day to get everything done. Terrible VPN policy and you're required to show up to work on some weekends. Software developers are assigned blame for bugs and management uses this as ammunition during review periods. Pay is substandard once you get past 1-3 years experience.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay your people better, be less confrontational, give more flexibility to employees if you make them work weekends.
