UK office has a mix of SME and Corporate feel

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
    London, England (UK)

ProsIt's a quiet office and not too hectic. It's quite laid back so not too stressful.

ConsSometimes it's too quiet and a lot of the working benefits aren't that competitive with other companies in London.
There's quite a low morale within certain departments and unnecessary politics. Lack of career development opportunities.

Advice to Senior ManagementMore positivity is needed

    Wonderful Employees To Work With

    Human Resources Coordinator (Former Employee)
    Miami, FL

ProsThe people are great to work with
Corporate involvement in community is ongoing and very supportive.
Can build pleasant working relationship with international employees which helps with your development.

ConsAlot of work in some departments so there seems that more personnel are needed to perform the work and this may highly impact employee turnover.
Everyone wants you to respond to their request, today, when you have to prioritize what must be done today.

Advice to Senior ManagementCompile and study exit interviews to determine reasons employees leave then rank and rate them in order to see what the corporation needs to do, if anything, to keep talented employees and reduce employee turnover.

Call center sales adviser, very rigid type of work.

    Sales Advisor (Former Employee)
    Miami, FL

ProsOverall a friendly environment, nice facilities and clean work environment, able request some of the resorts if you request them for vacation days.

ConsCall centers are very ridged work environments. All activity is easily monitored. Customers have very limited knowledge of the product they purchased. No breaks in between calls.

    Great Experience

    Director (Former Employee)
    Miami, FL

ProsMy manager was always pushing our team to grow. He was always looking for the cutting edge technology to keep our skills up to date with the times.

ConsThere's a lot of cliques. Many people have worked there for a very long time...Some are not very open to people coming in from the outside.

    – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Good company to work for

    Senior Programmer Analyst (Former Employee)
    Miami, FL

ProsCompany systems are divided into specialized groups

ConsIT management is a little inexperienced as some have been there since the beginning of time, but overall good people.

Advice to Senior ManagementUnfortunately there are some employees that don't carry their weight. Fat trimming might be necessary.

A great place to work in sunny Miami!

    Senior Software Engineer (Current Employee)
    Miami, FL

Pros- Excellent Vacation Paid Time Off Benefits
    - Free Resort Stays Benefits
    - 401k % Match
    - Remote Work Exceptions
    - Great Colleagues
    - Embrace New Technology

Cons- Make sure to negotiate before you work there, raises are very slow.
    - You must pay for parking
    - Management is not working fast enough to give increases to underpaid resources
    - Consultants are given too much power and opportunities (more than perm employees)

Advice to Senior Management- Need to show better appreciation of employees (you seem to show appreciation only when the employees are on the way out the door. If you appreciate the resource, why not answer expressed concerns before they leave instead of waiting till they leave).

    - Training needed more often

    - Should offer stock options to all employees. Why not encourage employees to buy shares and have them feel vested?

    - Allow technology professionals to be Remote more often. (save on overhead)

As happy here as anywhere else

    Business Analyst (Current Employee)
    Miami, FL

Proscross training; synergy; fun work environment

ConsNo longer has matching 401k :-(

Advice to Senior ManagementBring back the matching 401k and the annual raises. The job market will only stay soft for so long.

Interval International's Information Technology Dept is very mature.

    Senior Programmer/Software Developer (Former Employee)
    Miami, FL

ProsAs a developer at interval you have exposure to most of the new java technology stack and frameworks from Java Spring Framework to working on Grails... Its a full enterprise stack w backend legacy connectivity w also a new backend ORM solution w middle tier web services as well as a frontend MVC with all the tech buzzwords in java you can think of. Its a great place to work whereas you may get remote capabilities, many vacation days off, resort benefits and more... It may be a place where you get complacent and comfortable eventually... So try to keep on top of your game and you will do fine.

ConsSometimes management forgets to promote, reward, show value, motivate, help grow and recognize those loyal to the business... They dont mean to, but it happens as they have many things to attend to due to the company being a publicly traded company.

Advice to Senior ManagementRemember to cherish what you have and make a growth plan for those that embrace the company. As you once were at the beginning, help those achieve success to the top.
