Pros
A great team of intelligent individuals made Interwoven a great place to work. Work culture, work life balance, and challenging engagements made working hard at Interwoven seem worthwhile.
Cons
Some very poor strategical decisions made by persons not qualified to make those decisions. These individuals should have been smoked out very early on.
Advice to Senior Management
I guess it is one of the hardest things to to detect bullshitters who are really good at it. Ask around though, be in touch with your community and try to see through the smoke and mirrors.
Pros
they are a very impressive company that values its employees and has great products a pleasure to work for thanks
Cons
the salaries are slightly below the average although the work life balance is very good so not too much too complain about
Advice to Senior Management
I would say that you should not of sold the company nearly everybody is looking or has left what a shame
Pros
On the PSIS (legal) side of the business, we all work well as a team and everyone's opinions are respected. Benefits are pretty good and there is 401K too.
Cons
Parts of the company can be extremely political and some of the corporate functions are dysfunctional. Lack of career advancement, the organization is pretty flat. Pay scales are slightly under average.
Advice to Senior Management
None, we are being sold to Autonomy
Pros
Work, product development, intelligent peers, team-work, salaries are OK for a product development company but of course better than services, management listens, cash awards if you do well, business trips
Cons
OK Facilities. OK office(c'mon we need a better office)
Some managers draw a lot of clout and play favorites. Resultingly many careers go up and down only bcoz of that. Thats bad.
Brand - Intel? Interone? Inter...this? Inter...that? ...Gives-up due to desperation. Point is they have not tried to create a brand here in India.
In fact I am planning to look out for a job only because I am sick and tired of spelling Interwoven to everyone ;-)
Advice to Senior Management
Invest more in India office
Pros
Learning and the field of content management is very good in the market
Cons
Management and growth oppurtunities for employees
Advice to Senior Management
To look for growth of their employees not in remuneration but atleast in their growth and productivity
Pros
There is a great team in place. Customer Service Organization contains very bright people, always willing to share .The engineers are scattered all over the world, but again, very helpful. There are a variety of courses to teach, so it is never boring. Compensation for folks who have been here for a while is above and beyond other companies. Benefits are also very good. Long service if rewarded.
Cons
There are times wen some projects require very, very, and I mean very long hours. Resources, both people and hardware, software, networks, etc, are not always up to the level required to do the job efficiently.
Advice to Senior Management
Pay more attention to infrastructure
Pros
Interwoven is a well oiled machine. It has great support systems and if you like stability you will get on fine. If you are aggressive you will always have the opportunity to build a good niche and possibly a great team that will give you much satisfaction. But it won't be handed to you - you need to use your social networking skills to create the
Cons
If you try and go external (to startups) you will be viewed as inflexible and some significant skepticism. This isn't always the case, but it is common to see people doing the same thing, getting stale and suddenly (maybe being pushed) to "see what is out there."
Advice to Senior Management
Listen to people
Pros
In summary - great place to work!!!
Cons
Nothing in particular. Just like any other company
Advice to Senior Management
They got be more strategic, plan for the long term than churning out decent quarterly numbers!!!
Pros
Interesting projects for consultants. Good, but not great, core products to work with.
Cons
Content Management space not nearly as lucrative as CRM, ERP. Not a dominating market leader so competition is fierce and consultants don't always get to work at good accounts. Field office staff (consultants, support) are second-class citizens compared to those in headquarters (marketing, engineering). HR is not a good advocate for staff.
Advice to Senior Management
Products have lost sizzle. It is taking too long to improve TeamSite. Confusing array of offerings need to be focused. Products like report module should not require additional licensing but be built into core product.
Need to give more/better support for third party developers and consultants (not just partner organizations) to service accounts and to create add-on products and extensions so efforts can be more focused on product engineering and marketing. There are just too many good commercial and open source alternatives now to hope that current business model will sustain the company long term.
Pros
Some of the technologies and challenges are with critical areas with customers and pushing the envelope with certain technologies. There are a lot of good people in Sales, Services, Marketing and Engineering.
Cons
New CEO (Joe Cowan) is changing the culture to be more polarized and negative. Not a lot of woman in senior roles.
Advice to Senior Management
CEO (Joe) needs to work on his relationships with employees. Needs to stop complaining about people behind their backs and start focusing on the problems the company has. Could benefit if he started nurturing and mentoring the organization. Work on his public speaking skills.
