    Pros

Interwoven was a market pioneer - and later market leader - who really shined in its ability to attract, hire, and advance talented people. The management - up until recently - was primarily hired and promoted from within, and the corporate culture was top-notch.

    Cons

However, over time some of that love has been lost. The collaborative approach, team mentaility, and other things diminished over time, and certain people were given power they shouldn't have been. The product mix did not change with the times and Interwoven continues to be an independent who rarely gets engaged in large ($500k+) opportuntiies.

    Advice to Management

Focus on strategic, core corporate applications which are deeply embedded in customers. Not "tangential" solutions like web content and analytisc, which can (and are) be ripped out and replaced.

    Pros

You can set your own work schedule! In addition, you can learn the company's products at your own pace to be used in another corporation that really appreciate your hard and honest work.

    Cons

They try to manipulate people 13. Management condone incompetence 14. Management fails to train the staff on their strongest skills 15. Advice to Management

Management needs to pay more attention to its staff and develop program toward career advancement. HR needs to get more involved in employee growth and retention by developing programs that support collaboration, knowledge sharing and team building.

    Pros

Sunnyvale, CA staff are on target Reimbursements on per diem is fast. Small perks at Chicago office such as free beverages, Monday treats, mondern office Good travel dept. Good channels of support and interdepartmental communication.

    Cons

Chicago IT dept. blows because of a recent 1st time manager who believes he is doing a good job and is not. The training consulting services manager is aloof and caters to his favorites in employees and talks down to any others who do not worship his walking path. Probably one of the worst inter departmental leaders in the IT industry. The newly appointed training manager serves in a local National Guard reserve weekend group and he treats subordinates as if they are his hard core boot camp privates. This manager focuses on pointing out every single flaw and nothing on positive employee contributions.

    Advice to Management

Perform bottom up evaluations to get accurate and true direct non-horizontal feeback.

    Pros

Good environment - Interwoven was developing successful products and experiencing positive growth. Senior management was trying to build out a corporate culture with the right leaders in place.

    Cons

Interwoven consisted of multiple companies. The work experience and environment could be quite inconsistent between them.

    Advice to Management

The senior managers are long gone now, but back then, they were trying to do the right thing. This is all anyone could have asked of them.
