I worked at Inteva Products as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Inteva was a great company to work for. The people were like a family to me. I was able to work with a lot of different teams and really learned a lot in my position. The hours were flexible and interns were provided with a lot of great get to know you type outings. The pay was great in comparison to other internships. Interns get to present in front of the leadership team which was a great opportunity.

    Cons

Some days were slow, others were jam packed.

I worked at Inteva Products full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Like most companies the best part was the people. Everyone was supportive and willing to take the time to help new employees learn. Little room for advancement however you do get opportunities to work on assignments outside of your normal responsibilities, which can be a positive and a negative. Flexible working hours.

    Cons

Little room for promotions, compensation is not great. Management tends to avoid the large issues in the room and skirt around giving actual, concrete answers to financial problems and employee turnover. Changes seem to be happening but it comes too little too late.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Acknowledge the issues and provide solutions and plans to solve them. Be aware the market is doing great right now, Inteva needs to provide incentive to their current employees to slow turnover. When the company isn't doing great, people are willing to leave for a more comfortable opportunity somewhere else.

    Pros

Steady paycheck , Able to get overtime , some paid holidays , not a lot of new technology to learn , 401k company match to certain amount

    Cons

Due to lower pay than surrounding plants the worker quality isn't that great, even with a UAW contact company was able to cut pay by 1/3 and take vacations and other benefits that was supposed to last through 2014. Not getting contracts that we have always had in the past.

I have been working at Inteva Products full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Flat organization structure. Potential upside if managed better. Respectable technology and capable engineers respected with customers.

    Cons

Big company silos, fighting between functional groups. Financial systems are not adequate, program management function is non-existent. Senior management are former GM 'Delphi" behaving and managing same old way.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest in program management function and hold operations accountable for performance.

I have been working at Inteva Products

    Pros

Friendly work environment. Great opportunity to do real hands-on work / creative work…. Not just boring production changes. Management doesn’t rule with an iron-fist

    Cons

Pay is pretty poor. Good luck getting hired in direct.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I know your trying to cut costs/budget, but pay your good employees what they are worth. Also focus a little more time, energy, and most importantly money in non-automotive projects

    I worked at Inteva Products

    Pros

Small company feel with global footprint. Often times feels like a family run organization. Very supportive management structure until the money ran out. Did not protest unemployment.

    Cons

The talk is often like that of a deep pocket conglomerate. In action they are unable to meet their financial obligations on time. While sales communication was very forthcoming, the true financial situation of the company was never shared with employees. As they laid off more than a third of their work force, they did it in such a way so they didn't have to report it to the state of Michigan. If they ever get back on their feet, pay their bills, and try to get a reputation back they will be a good company just not trust worthy on telling the truth about their finances.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Your word is your bond. As a company you have weathered the downturn in the auto industry but it has cost you everything in terms of reputation. Pay your bills and get back in the good graces of your suppliers. The good people you laid off in management have told your story and it's not a pretty one. You have a good company, now re-establish your reputation.
