Intracom Telecom has the potential to become something bigger but "higher" decisions hold it back

Senior Software Engineer (Current Employee) Patras (Greece)

    Pros-stable working environment
-casual and friendly atmosphere where everyone is willing to help each other learn
-like minded people who take pride from their jobs and are focused on the result
-very good relations with Ericsson who are partners for more than 15years now
-judging from what is available in Greece (especially Patras) you can't find a better R&D company

Cons-compensation & benefits (wages/bonuses) should be directly related to the provided work & to the contribution of each employe to the company
-project managers/team leaders stay the same for many years and are reluctant to try new things, hear ideas from other people or help to evolve the company
-not many opportunities to rise up the ladder
-being under the influence of Intracom Holdings, it's difficult for the company to make decisions autonomously

Advice to Senior Management-be open and sincere with people
-try to see further down the road and don't be so shortsighted
-pick the right people for the job
-give back to people who contribute for the good of the company
-managers/company has made many bad decisions in the past on which people to trust, but they don't seem to learn
-allow more freedom in some issues for each department

can get as much responsibility you like

Consno mobility unless you ask for it

Tons of knowledge & expertise, but old-school

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsWorking in an environment of high technical expertise means that you continue to learn all the important stuff that they don't teach you at College/Uni. It's not only about networks, but knowing how to bring them together, connecting the seems, is what gives you confidence and sets you apart.

ConsRun by a bunch of cronies, they have been switching positions for the last ten years while the company is going downhill, a pity but they only have themselves to blame.
There are some aspiring & influential fresh voices within the company (who could lead the company to a new direction & much needed new revenue streams), but still, their influence can not overcome the power & resistance to change of top management.

Advice to Senior ManagementLet go of the past!
You know your cash-cows, use them to develop new innovative solutions instead of trying to keep a dead horse (or cow) alive. Send 1-2 of your bright stars, mid-management, to spend a few months in California, you may be surprised.

Typical Large, Well established, Technically focused organization.

Department Manager, Technical Sales (Current Employee) Athens (Greece)

ProsIntracom Telecom has being active for close to 40 years with operations in Greece and 14 other countries as a technology vendor and System Integrator. In the given activity field there is no other company in Greece that can be compared in terms of the exposure an employee would have for technology, business and operational span. The working environment is stable, procedure defined and offering opportunities for growth.

ConsBeing a large organization there is some lack of agility. Intracom Telecom has often been accused for bureaucracy and lack of flexibility.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
