I have been working at Intrexon full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great technology to work with, close team members, variety of projects/programs to keep busy with, strong place to really work with high level professionals, and when you hit or exceed goals, often are recognized and rewarded by management. Promotions, pay increases reflect one's ability to perform.

    Cons

Many moving parts, deadlines, project shifts sometimes affect performance

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management should consider a yearly call to update employees on how the whole company is operating; it would an effective way of helping us understand our part in making the machine run

    Cons

Lots of new people so lots of people learning the ropes
Multiple locations make cross coordinating with other groups difficult

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Company should be more open to employee training and promoting from within

I have been working at Intrexon full-time

    Pros

Interesting work on many projects, some of them among the hottest and most cutting edge in biotech. Good scientists and research associates. Very strong leader of Health Sector.

    Cons

Projects change very rapidly. Top heavy at East Coast locations--VPs and Senior Directors involved in minutia. Lots of pressure from many directions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Chill out a little, the work will get done on schedule.

    Pros

You will gain experience in your field of choice in a corporate environment that you should use in your search for another position elsewhere.

    Cons

In the past there were constant seemingly random firings/layoffs that create a political and social enviroment that is dominated by fear ,secrecy and internal competition that does not create value for the company. As a human this is not a psychologically advantageous environment to spend much of your time in .
