Pros
Extremely good work / life balance.
Cons
Can get slow, too much churn. Management can get conservative.
Advice to Senior Management
Would be nice to concentrate more on engineering than non-engineering roles, since after all this is a software company. Too much emphasis on leadership. Could use younger staff.
Pros
Serious about living the values
Strong focus & culture of innovation
Strong Senior Leadership
Push for best in class results
Cons
It's now a big company and it feels that way
Some teams are much more energizing to work on than others
Work life balance can be an issue
Advice to Senior Management
Integrity without compromise is the most important cooperate value there is. Relentlessly keep it at the forefront of every decision. Don't compromise on that one.
Pros
Good benefits, flexible working schedule
Cons
Technical skills not highly valued.
Advice to Senior Management
Technical skills is not everything, but there should be a bar for engineers
Pros
Intuit has wonderful benefits and it is a very good place for technology innovation and growth.
Cons
Sometimes growth comes at a cost, and rapid growth has a greater degree of pain involved.
Advice to Senior Management
- The management at Intuit is fair (to we employees), and I feel they are very competent.
- I find that we have teams that want to engage, yet they remain silo'd; information is not forthcoming in time to head off some problems. I work on the delivery end of our incredible product suite, and I encounter many situations in which I have to react to a lack of knowledge involving a new product, or to a missing process.
- Rapid development and growth with our products is the major push and extremely important; we do this very well. However, the maintenance aspects and processes need to be shored up.
Pros
CEO and management deliver on vision
Supportive co-workers
Great learning opportunities
Cons
Uneven engagement levels -
Career advancement path can sometimes be a mystery
Pros
Good benefits, interesting work, depending on where you work some opportunity to share ideas for improvement.
Cons
Management changes directions often which doesn't allow new ideas to stick. Lots of politics, the minute somebody in upper management targets you (with or without reason) watch out.
Advice to Senior Management
Ask for input from the people on the front lines- they have great ideas and know what the customers want and need.
Pros
Great talent to work with.
Investment in employee development.
Focused on solving for employees, customers and shareholders.
Opportunity to work on new product development.
Cons
Highly results driven culture can undermine delivering the highest quality products to customers.
Need to balance between what did not go well with recognition of what did and accomplishments.
Pros
There are lots of great technologies to be exposed to. There are some very good people that have rubbed off on me.
Cons
The politics at Intuit are like no other mature corporation. It's more like a high school. I've witness very unfair and unethical practices on a daily basis. The lack of communication from peers that are only in it for themselves and Managers who are stuck in their comfort zone is intolerable. This comfort has generated some very lazy and dishonest co-workers and management.
Advice to Senior Management
More training on dealing with people. More transparency is highly recommended.
Pros
Lot of initiatives are taken by employees
Cons
Some good resources needs a salary correction or else they will leave
Advice to Senior Management
Be Initiative
Pros
They give everyone fair opportunities and induce your potential in most degree. They focus on small software but intellectual one
Cons
The opportunity is limited since the size of the company is not very hugh and they most focus on some small business family and even individual's software developing.
Advice to Senior Management
most manages at Intuit are nice, they have a good interaction with workers and take care of them a lot
