Former Employee – worked at Intuit full-time for more than 10 years

ProsPeople oriented, both customer and employee. Good life-work balance, except during busy season, but generous overtime policy helps.

ConsThey don't really train young managers on their way up. Mature managers know how to work with team members, junior "studs" are all about improving their own career paths.

Advice to Senior ManagementTrust your middle managers. Train your junior managers, and I don't mean The pansy Thunderbird training they got in Phoenix.

Plano, TX

Current Employee – been working at Intuit full-time for more than 10 years

ProsLots of opportunity to do different things within your current position.

ConsLimited or non-existent internal promotions. Too frequently management prefers to go outside the company to hire for higher level positions. Higher level new hires don't understand the business, culture, or drive many employees have. The result is a management team that quotes bullet points from our training slides and attempts to use "fear" to meet goals or simply move on or restructure before goals need to be reported.

Advice to Senior ManagementInternal promotions are more important to Intuit than outside hires.
