    Pros

Free lunch and dinner buffets. Spacious personal workplace. Free dormitory housing. Friendly atmosphere.

    Cons

As far as the department I was in goes, the structure of people responsible for managing/coding was unbalance. As a result, coding engineers had much more workload than the rest of people in this department.

I have been working at Inventec full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Freedom to innovate and be exposed to new technologies. Most employees are wonderful co-workers. Pay and benefits are good.

    Cons

Definitely old-school Taiwanese. Short sighted planning cycles (typically next quarter). Reliant on Server, notebook, tablet, and mobile phone for revenue. Not growing new revenue sources. Only focus on several large customers

    Advice to Management

Don't sell the future for present eps and stock price gains. Focus less on investors and more on customers. Get new blood into executive managment

Learning and Development, Employee Relationship Events, working environment and nice people. Generally, it is a good place to work at, a good company to work for.

    Cons

It is kind of too conservative and a little bit lacking of cheerful improvement in organization development. Young HIPOs need more opportunities to utilize their innovation ability.

More delegation and empowerment will release your staff to be more creative and passionate.

I worked at Inventec full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good learning opportunity with some bigger consumer electronics companies like HP, Toshiba, Acer or Dell. Like other Taiwanese companies, the overtime work is a little bit high. You may grow till manager level but it will be difficult to grow beyond that level.

    Cons

The laptop industry was going down significantly for that last 5 years, therefore it impacted a lot to the company revenue and profit as well. You may not expect to get good compensation due to industry/company status.
