Pros – Small town, quite. Strong engineering programs and connection with Ames lab. Quite diversity.
Cons – In the middle west region, not so good for some job hunting like electronics company.

Cons – Climate is really bad harsh over here.

Pros – - TA work is usually easy and lightweight.
- Pay is the same as dining or other areas around campus, but the work is actually related to your field!
- Establish rapport with professors in your major.
- Work directly with students (sometimes teaching subjects)
- Usually you are able to work your own desired hours.
Cons – - Pay is shy of minimum wage, but that is to be expected.
- Sometimes there is not enough work to do 10 hours in a week.
- There is the potential of having some students that require more dedication to teaching than others.
Advice to Senior Management – Give TA's a raise if they decide to stick around for more than a semester. They know what they are doing.

Cons – Some departments are very bureaucratic.
Advice to Senior Management – Trim out some of the bureaucracy on things such as purchasing.

Cons – unrealistic expectations for meeting individual goals.
Advice to Senior Management – understand that individuals have to work during the day and meeting them one on one isn't as easy as they think.

Pros – There is a lot of freedom while working as a postdoc at ISU and choosing your research interests.
Cons – Iowa is a rural state, so the pace of the town is slow. It is a good place to work if you prefer to work in a small, quiet town.

Pros – Flexibility in work hours and self guided work that allowed student-employess freedom to schedule work as they saw fit. As long as deadlines were met, supervisors were very happy.
Cons – A lack of organization at meetings led to loss of productivity.
Advice to Senior Management – Require ideas at the doors of meetings to streamline efforts
