    Pros

It was a great opportunity as a student to live and work at the corporate headquarters and the employees were all extremely friendly and welcoming.

    Cons

The company has recently seen some serious consequences in the economic downturn.

    Advice to Management

Maintain the internship opportunties, and possibly expand upon the program

I have been working at Irish Bank Resolution Corporation full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Entrepreneurial, fast passed, tons of experience across all property times. Collegiate environment.

    Cons

Paid below competition, Bank got into trouble for falsifying data.

    Advice to Management

Consider not misleading employees and investors in the future.

  3. During my tenure at the bank, it was nationalized. They favored deals with "good Irish blokes."

I worked at Irish Bank Resolution Corporation full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

We got to drink a lot. It was a fun work hard, play hard environment. Everyone was young and fun. The work life balance was good as well, although this may have been because it was during the recession of 2008.

    Cons

The bank made really poor lending decisions, which got them in the situation that they did. They invested in deals long after other banks had pulled out of certain property types (due to the risk), but Anglo promised, "he's a good Irish bloke" and made poor lending decisions. Since it is an Irish-run bank, even in the US, they strongly favor ANYONE who is Irish and discriminate (in subtle) ways against Americans and definitely against women. Most everyone who is hired is white and has some genetic connection to Ireland.

    Pros

When I joined, the team I joined was an excellent technical grouping. Compensation was in line with the market at the time. Reasonable payment for on-call and out of hours.

    Cons

Shift work was sprung on me post signing the contract, not impressed with that, as no compensation for shift operation was offered.

    Advice to Management

No advice really, company is being wound up and by June will have been compressed right down to approximately 40 people. Best advice would be put in a proper retention plan to keep vital staff, don't just expect them to hang on in a stale environment while their skills atrophy for the sake of the Mulvey money.
