    Pros

Benefits are great, recognition for top performers with Chairman's Club is outstanding, solutions are unmatched and a good reputation in the industry.

    Cons

Very Low salary compared to industry, no merit base salary raise in 5 years, career path is non existent. Worry more about metrics than actual sales numbers which boggles my mind!

    Advice to Management

Empower your employees and not worry so much on the metrics. Especially for those exceeding sales!!!

    Pros

Some of the staff are friendly and want the best for the company, but it's not a majority.

    Cons

    Very Disorganized
    Your opinion is devalued
Because of the division of departments, the facility has a fiefdom mentality
    High levels of micromanagement
Promises are not kept. especially verbal ones, get it in writing!
Even little simple things like making sure there are large enough refrigerators for the staff isn't done with common sense application.
    Favoritism and cronyism abound.

    Advice to Management

If you are building out rooms for staff, ask the staff what they might need, rather than taking the lazy man's approach, throwing some items in a room and patting yourself on the back.

Let your "yes" be your "yes". don't make promises or statements you have no intention of keeping.

There is a breathtaking lack of communication, both within departments and between departments, and all the meeting and seminars won't help. It is a character problem that can only be solved by taking a hard look at who you have in what positions.

This division (Film & Sound) is a grease fire, lots of finger pointing when something goes wrong, and very little accountability, especially from management. It starts and ends with you. If you're not presenting a unified facility, then this facility will be filled with nothing but mediocrity, for your actions will drive the talent away, for they never feel welcome, nor appreciated.

    Pros

Challenging project for world wide, well known company, great team, good management, experience, new friends, and of course good salary.

    Cons

Finding technical solutions to restore different kind of Archives from different operating systems.
Virtualization old hardware and OS using VMware, VirtualBOX, Qemu, SIMH (Ultrix, Solaris, NetBSD, Apollo, OpenVMS) and integration in the existing network.
Preparing restoration and control process and employees using UML.

    Pros

    Work Life balance is exceptional

    Cons

    Not much room for advancement

    Advice to Management

Become more transparent. This is an east coast company with some old values. Changes are slow and without notice.

    Pros

Bright and surprisingly creative and flexible staff makes work engaging and fun. Long-timers know where the bodies are buried and are able to steer newbies clear of potential problems. Much of the training is self-help videos and online exercises, generally very good. Excellent market data, leads and research ensure the best and brightest have the best info to make good decisions and to be most productive. Solid benefits and pay. Vision and Mission are easy to get behind and support.

    Cons

A challenging environment to gain proficiency; some processes seem over engineered and people in the know go around these hurdles, causing fires elsewhere. Good communication and transparency, though, but cycles are burned unnecessarily. CYA emails and figuring out what's going on by the 48th forward is tedious, but it's in the culture.

    Advice to Management

We need a process to autopsy things that go wrong and another to challenge industry data and stats based on our own experiences. Teams in the field have a lot of industry and competitive insight that could better be shared - perhaps on Salesforce "Chatter" Also, we should have "No Meeting Fridays" to catch up, distill and share what we've learned.

    Pros

Fairly easy going, not a lot of pressure - with the exception of one micro-manager. But everyplace has the one disgruntled employee that ruins it for everyone.

    Cons

Only upper management is staff. Everyone else is "permanent" freelance. And the company does little things to remind you of your non-employee status all the time.

    Pros

Traditional Fortune 500 company with a great culture and co-workers that were more like family. Ability to advance and no limitations put on earnings (sales).

    Cons

Executive management possessed strong leadership and vision at one time, not sure that it is this way today.

    Advice to Management

Continue employee development. It keeps morale and tenure on the positive side.

    Pros

Fair-to-above market compensation, depending on where you live. Good benefits. Some exceptional people on staff.

    Cons

Industry is rapidly changing, and the company is behind the curve. Every year brings sweeping change in team structure, territory, account lists and compensation structure making it difficult to stay on top of things. Lots of layoffs have lowered morale and career expectations. Very difficult to move up the ladder unless you're willing to relocate. Little diversity above the front lines. While there are some sharp folks employed here, there are also some very dull folks - promotions don't always seem to go to the most deserving.

    Advice to Management

Really listen to your customers AND your employees.
