Pros
The company allows you to do what you are most talented at..The company requires people with a lat. of creativity and leadership skills.
Cons
If your expecting to walk in and have everything done/handed to you like at bigger corps, u got another thing coming. Not for the weak or those who are used to getting paid based off what salary.com says you should get paid...
You have to Make A way and often prove yourself (which some feel should have been done in the interview) which builds up skills in leadership, professionalism while getting your work experience at the same time. This is the quickest way to advancement within the company
Advice to Senior Management
Invest more time in training the new hires before leaving them off to swim..most people are used to getting trained for a period of time by one person on a routine basis..and not out of an everchanging wiki
Pros
You get opportunities to take a leadership role in helping customers, and your usually rewarded verbally for it. Work hours are pretty flexible. Friendly local ISP , great rep for customer service...somewhat laissez faire. You can learn just about anything there and put it under the bealt. Sometimes your allowed to work from home.
Cons
No yearly reviews, your rarely compensated unless you have threatened to quit. No raises, but the work load continues as the business gets bigger. Management doesn't do much about slackers and give the impression ' you complain, then you deal with it'. Small company trying to be big company, but wont spend a dime on keeping the worker bees happy. Too many managers that continuously bump heads.
Advice to Senior Management
Listen to your employees. Take ownership for the team and work on keeping up the morale if you aren't planning on providing competitive pay or rewarding with a raise.
