I have been working at Isuzu Motors America full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Good corporate location. Nice office. Friendly and polite american staff. Little management oversight of your work. Training opportunities must be self made.

    Cons

Incompetence. Low pay. Japan vs. America office mentality. Bureaucracy slows down all decisions and settled items are reopened without explanation. Since there is little chance of advancement, quality workers quit and move on to better companies. Workers who have remained have moved up without qualifications due to lack of outside competition for few openings.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Upper management is all shipped in on a rotational basis in order to enjoy a 2 year American vacation. They hide in closed offices with windows and do not associate with "local" staff. Advice to management; Go home.

I worked at Isuzu Motors America

    Pros

Great benefits. Great people. Understanding management. Great place to learn and gain experience. Great variety of tools to learn and gain understanding of.

    Cons

Hostile senior management. They don't say hello when you do and they will criticize every aspect of your work. Promotions are based on seniority. Pay is way below market value. There is absolutely no room for growth. It's a sinking ship.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop promoting based on seniority. If you're going to hire from the outside, at least hire competent people. No one likes to train their boss. Also, Mr. CEO, you can smile some more and at least say hi to the grunts doing the hard work.

I have been working at Isuzu Motors America

    Pros

Isuzu's small company culture feels like "family" to most associates and provides an opportunity for your work to be highly visible, but you'll still enjoy all the benefits of a major national corporation.

    Cons

Salary may not be same compare to industry.

    Recommends
    No opinion of CEO
