I worked at Itron full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The managers were receptive to feedback. Everyone's perspective was taken into account, if you make your perspective known. The position I held involved a lot of travel, and their travel policies were very accommodating as far as large field/consulting companies go.

    Cons

I left when it looked like the federal government stimulus well was running dry. I can only make assumptions from that point on, but it looked like the impending belt-tightening was about to change the work culture a lot.

I worked at Itron full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Friendly people, great environment, and a lot of learning on the job. I probably doubled my abilities as a c# developer every year.

    Cons

At times the work could seem meaningless. Sometimes it seemed as though the existence of my job was so that utility companies could over charge for electricity.

    Advice to Management

Establish pride and excitement of the product your selling. If you're marketing group says "it's green and helps the environment," maybe give everyone coffee cups with the company name and have a recycling bin available. Lastly, give honest feedback and more opportunities. Don't wait until the end of the year evaluations to say "you met expectations."

  3. I had a great experience working with this company, but there are a lot of layoffs of temps and a couple of full timers.

    Pros

-Co-workers are great, become like a family. -Pay isn't bad considering you don't need a GED or HS diploma. -Great vacation. Get about 2 weeks off at the end of the year. -Relaxed environment.

    Cons

-Lots of layoffs. -No room for advancement. -Cap on raises. -Reviews are done by co-workers, so raises are based on how well you are liked.
