NOT A PLACE FOR LONG TERM

    Software Engineer (Former Employee)
    Bangalore (India)

    ProsThese are not many.
    1. Good amount of responsibility on freshers. Learning curve is very steep during initial years.
    2. Free lunch.

    ConsThese are too many.
    1. Huge, consistent workload throughout year. Have to work on weekends as a norm.
    2. 3-4 people based HR department is not bothered about employees at all.
    3. No amount of bonus is shared to employees except for managers.
    4. Lots of micro-managing.
    5. No long-term vision. Company only wants to break even on each quarter and moving to any sector that looks promising.
    6. Infrastructure is poor even in comparison to start-ups. 13 year old company still wants to be called start-up and hence provide no perks or benefits at all.
    7. High attrition rate. Most people leave after 1-3 years.

Advice to Senior Management1. The company is not doing very well due to mis-management.
    2. Give respect to engineers and not just managers. Its probably one of the worst IT firm in Bangalore for engineers.
    3. HR team should do some work.

A Company to just exploit the employees

    Lead Engineer (Former Employee)
    Bangalore (India)

ProsGood for a fresher, but nobody should and actually stays for more than a year.
    Free lunch
Learn how to survive in a psycho company
    Learn how to handle micro-management
Learn how to keep slogging with an salary below any standards

ConsCompany is 13 years old, still infrastructure is of a 1 year old company
Infact, the company itself still prefers to call itself a "StartUp".

As per managers, company is always doing good.
In that case i have a basic doubt.
The earnings are not getting reflected in employee salaries,
nor there is any change in the infrastructure for the last 6-7 years,
nor there are any new recreational/HR items added
---- then where are the earnings going?

Actually, the company has got confused whether they are running a bondage labor company or an IT company.

The company is trying to form a team in whatever "lucrative", without having any fixed goal or aim.
The managers are horrible and are just "political speakers" of theirs bosses wrong decisions.

The truth is that there is no transparency in anything, that is dangerous for a company which has not yet crossed the 350 employee mark.

Advice to Senior ManagementI think you all have done a very hard toiling work by leaving a stable job and forming a startup.
It is now time for enjoying the benefits of the same.
But, please remember one point, too much of anything is bad.

A stepping-stone of a company, tough to think long-term (here)

    Senior Engineer (Former Employee)
    Bangalore (India)

ProsGreat work culture, despite the fact that your personal social life goes out of the window. Great people to work with. The learning is amazing and the technology people work with here is great (for an Indian Company). Perfect place to start off in the industry. Flexible timings.

ConsTimings are flexible but long. An unwritten rule is that the expectation is a minimum of 60-65 hours a week, which invariably would mean working quite a few weekends. Too much of a disconnect between top-level management and the engineers. Also there is very little trust. The best managers are the ones who have been at the company for years. Know the workings and culture inside-out. They would do well to promote managers from within then hire relatively unknown quantities from the outside.

Remuneration/promotions cannot be compared with other mid/top level companies in the same field and is seen in the high attrition rate.

Need to show a little more respect towards employees not performing according to expectations.

Advice to Senior ManagementHave to show more respect and loyalty to employees. (They do not grow on trees)

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
