    Exciting and rewarding

    Intern (Current Employee)

ProsFantastic company to work for. It is a Fortune 500 company but still feels small, which which is refreshing in the business world. Strong emphasis on safety culture and having fun at work (while still being productive). Management provides plenty of opportunities to expand your skill set and makes going to work fun. I haven't worked with anyone that I disliked. I couldn't have asked for a better company to intern for this year.

ConsIt's not always fun working with drivers... but not every job is perfect. There can be some downtime or you can have a crazy hectic day. Unpredictable (but I kind of like it).

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep maintaining small company feel while expanding business.

    Great experience as Finance/Accounting Intern

    Finance (Former Employee)
    Lowell, AR

ProsThere is an overall friendly work environment. The company is strong in the industry and growing under good leadership. There is a casual atmosphere in the company.

ConsThe upper management is generally older and less innovative. Lowell, AR is also a very small town so most employees live in nearby towns and commute.

    Not too bad

    Regional Driver (Current Employee)
    Chicago, IL

ProsGreat equipment, got freight pretty easy going once you get thru all the bs. Great group of drivers. Brokedown want to go home just tell them they will get you home. Home every weekend with out fail.

ConsShop Sucks week plus to get anything fixed. Chicago can be hell if you do not know what you are doing. Company polices can protect you but more likely to screw you if you dont know what youre doing i.e. youre a retard.

    I am a current employee

    National Sales Manager (Current Employee)
    Lowell, AR

ProsValues of the senior management team, people, work ethic

    ConsThe salaries are not competitive.

Advice to Senior ManagementOur senior management team is second to none. I take pride in the fact that I work for such amazing individuals. The reason that I am so loyal to JB Hunt, and not lured away by more money, is because of the leadership I have surrounding me. My one piece of advice to our management team is to pay our employees what the industry is paying. We are losing a lot of really amazing people, because our salaries do not compete.
