Pros
Great culture and fun work environment. Lots of amenities at the Home Office.
Cons
Salaries are not competitive and career advancement takes a long time. Size of company and too many layers of management make it hard to implement change.
Pros
I worked with a great, friendly team of employees, the job was never too boring, and the management in the store respected the team.
Cons
There wasn't the best communication between management and employees. It also didn't have the best pay as my old job I was making quite more for doing less.
Advice to Senior Management
Some advice is that the management should really focus on getting to know their employees and finding the best way to communicate with them.
Pros
I had an amazing store manager as a mentor. He helped me learn and grow in the company.
Cons
The pay and benefits are pretty lousy.
Pros
Relationship building, cross-training, training classes available
Cons
unclear career path, too many structure changes, too little advancement opportunites
Advice to Senior Management
Be honest and clear about objectives. Value your people. Find the right people for the job, especially managers. Make them take management and leadership training before people have to report to them. Understand and recognize work/life balance.
Pros
Good people overall, you treated fairly by management overall
Cons
Directives from corporate office are idiotic and there is almost no chance of promotion, health insurance leaves a lot to be desired
Pros
flexible schedules, possible advancement, friendly enviornment.
Cons
the pay sucks, they over work you,
Advice to Senior Management
they suck
Pros
Nice managers
nice coworkers who make the time go by fast
decent customers who are for the most part friendly
20% discount on cute clothing
hour lunch break
clean break room and good store location
benefits offered to part time associates
power line website is easy to use and you can put in your hours and request time off there
Cons
Long hours on my feet
store projects
some rude/demanding customers
too much to do and not enough assistance. Sales associates are expected to do everything here and I hate dealing with the teenagers in the Jr department. It's always a mess!
Icaps are annoying and I never make the goal.
Pay sucks but it's retail..making 8.50/hr and that's after my "raise".
Dirty bathrooms!
Returns!! especially after the holidays, what a night mare!
Also I had left a job that was at least giving me 30 hrs a week for this job and now I barely get any hours! I wish I never applied to work here in the first place. They told me they would give me hours and after two months of work my hours disappeared. Why bothering hiring someone if you're not going to give them any hours? I have tuition to pay!
Advice to Senior Management
Get rid of credit cards please!!! I beg of you, and pay a little more. Thanks!!
Pros
okay hours with nice pay
Cons
pressure associates to get credit card applications and online orders. Even if you get one customer survey, they will harass you until you get one for every customer you serve. The managers have favoritism; they are very childish with gossiping about employees. Yes, if you close you have to stay late, but if you try your hardest, they will find a reason to complain to you and to your manager...&& since the economy obviously sucks, they are meaner and cruel..
never work here!
Advice to Senior Management
treat your associates with respect, you all forget that you were us ONCE..dont gossip about us - especially on F A C E B O O K...really creepy that some give their numbers out... you all are really vicious and hurtful.
Pros
They truly value customer service
They give the employee the power to meet the customers needs
Cons
Department supervisors are inconsistent
More need for continuous training directly from staff
Advice to Senior Management
Spend more time getting to know your base level employees
Pros
works with school schedule, cool employees and management
Cons
always working closing shifts, hours cut often
