I have been working at J. C. Penney

    Pros

An enjoyable clean workplace with a good overall employee culture. They carry quality products and the discount can really make for some excellent bargains.

    Cons

The process of rebuilding the company is difficult and will require time to return to its former prominence in the retail industry. The selection needs to be expanded.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Department managers and store leadership needs to foster growth in their associates through mentoring rather than delegating.

    I worked at J. C. Penney part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

The older ladies in my section were pretty cool and I've made lifelong friends. The job wasn't so difficult as everything is straight forward

    Cons

The managers never had the same opinions so closing was always a mess because there was always a confusion whether to work on recovery or putbacks. The whole coupons thing was a mess and the credit card sign up isn't as easy as they think it is.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Get it together
