    Pros

Very flexible work to life. Great atmosphere for employees to grow.

    Cons

The level of expectancy from other associates on pay. No degree needed. some days horrible customers, you know who you are, not a non profit. Guess thats the same other places.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pros

The employee discount was the best part of working here. The staff is very diversified and friendly.

    Cons

The attendance policy is a joke. They set you up to fail.

    I have been working at J. C. Penney part-time

    Pros

The employee discount and the sales they had.

    Cons

Average pay, a company that is worried about that $20 sale even if the customer has changed the tag to change the price.

    I worked at J. C. Penney full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

I love working on the black tile with my Sephora teammates. The work was challenging but fun. The beauty leader training provided by the home office team was top notch.

    Cons

It was challenging to wear so many different hats and keep many different people happy. Payroll was challenging, especially when business was good because you did not earn more hours with more sales like a traditional retail store

I have been working at J. C. Penney

    Pros

Other associates are nice to work with. Easy to get hired for seasonal work.

    Cons

No training, irregular work schedule. Left alone to figure it out on my own. Push the credit card on customers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be nice if we were trained before being left alone on the floor. If we are only working 15 to 20 hrs a week we shouldn't have to compete with full time employees for credit card applications.

I have been working at J. C. Penney full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

I loved most of the people I worked with. They were like my second family.
Merchandising was always fun and I loved setting my department. I actually had a work life balance there which was great.

    Cons

With new management in the store I worked at, it progressively got worse. Other supervisors were not held accountable therefore the rest of us had to pick up their slack. We became understaffed and instead of doing my job, I was ringing constantly, cleaning out fittings rooms, etc. The pay was low. Regular associates doing half the work I would do, got paid more. It wasn't what I loved doing anymore and that's why I went elsewhere.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take a closer look at your leaders and either push them to do better or replace them!
