    Friendly people, a fun job. Lots of events held for associates

    Cons

    Not enough hours, too much of a push for credit card applications and customers get annoyed with it. Don't expect a raise, not room to move up.

    Pros

    I managed the iGPS pallet structure into inbound logistics systems for a possible $265,000 annual savings. I developed multiple supply chain strategies to increase store profits including negotiation with 10 carriers.

    Cons

    The work hours could be grueling at times and customers had issues some of the time. We had to deal with many returns on certain days.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    I recommend doing most of the same things that they already do. JC Penny is a great company to work for because they allow you to reach your full potential.

    Pros

    Co workers are awesome and we had awsome food days. They try to motivate us to meet goals which really is helpful!

    Cons

    They cut hours if your not full time you can only work up to 23 hours a week. Employees Barely get 4 hours a week.

    Corporate should consider employee lives.

    Pros

    Sephora was fun and probably the best part. Paid very well for Sephora workers. Decent for JCP workers. Most people from the JCP side were nice. Easy to view your schedule and paystubs online.

    Cons

    Not much appreciation for employees. A relative of mine has been there for 25+ years and has never received a raise, bonus, or any extra benefits, lost benefits and insurance actually. Poor employee discount compared to other retailers. HR doesn't call back after interviews even with 2 follow up calls from the person applying for a position.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Take notice to veteran employees rather than just people who get credit card apps. Annual raises for salon workers. Better pay for salon workers.

    Pros

    Loved making a difference in feel of retail for the customers.

    Cons

    Expected to do more (because they knew I would) than the other associates that were allowed to slack.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Listen to those Power associates that love their job instead of giving the impression that their "direct from the floor" advice & concerns are insignificant. Don't pay former associates who quit without notice, more money to come back than those who have been cheerfully loyal through thick and thin. There should be a "shift lead" for each department in addition to the leads that does get slightly more pay than regular level associates and is capable of handling any and all of the issues the lead can in their absence or unavailable times. (Sometimes even teaching the leads who are less involved different aspects.. Etc) Also I would add there should never be a time where there is no loss prevention person in the store whatsoever. There should be an appointed team member (preferably on the shrinkage crew) who can at the very least make proper documentation & is ready on cue to provide diversion through excellent customer experience.
