    Pros

Pretty good staff good discount pay wasn't that bad for the most part. I enjoyed working with the people in my department

    Cons

Store manager was very unprofessional and had some prejudice ways towards african-Americans. Company isn't doing too well and they are closing stores which means layoffs.

I have been working at J. C. Penney

    Pros

Upon being hired, the store manager told me that the store is to remain drama free. She works very hard to make sure all of the employees are happy and satisfied. The atmosphere on the floor is very fun. Especially during busy periods, all of the team members are supportive and helpful. We usually had some sort of celebration once a month. Some things we did was have a dinner/potluck, jean day, and bowling party.

    Cons

The communication between floor associates and managers isn't very good. When making a request for a day off online, be sure to speak to the scheduling manager in person or else they might not even see it. Also, they aren't very flexible with students. When filling in your availability, take in account times you want to study and test days.

    I worked at J. C. Penney part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The people I worked with were the best. It was easy to get along with everyone and have a good time at work. The supervisors cared about their departments and their associates.

    Cons

Trying to meet personal sales goals and the goals for the store were sometimes difficult. Management would get heat from their bosses and then turn it on the associates and the pressure wasn't always great.

I have been working at J. C. Penney full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Just say "yes" to the customer. Easiest Customer service job that I ever had. Great people and trainers. Normally reasonable about scheduling. Website needs to be super simple to use.

    Cons

Out dated programs and equipment. Out dating shipping methods and warehouse systems; shipping time takes twice as long as anybody else. No raise in over 3 years. Super tight attendance policy compared to any other call center.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You would save half your calls by making website super simple to use and the other half of the calls are also simple just give free shipping on all orders- all your major competition already has done that .

    Pros

The staff you manage is great and will work themselves for you. They genuinely care about the store and it's success.

    Cons

The upper management will not train you. The training and learning system they have is a joke. Ask for help? You won't get it. Then you will be reviewed on all the things you don't know. Complete hypocrites.

    Pros

Nice co-workers, excellent customer service training,

    Cons

Horrible SUPERVISOR who don't know jack and same goes for management. The management could do good with some management training, Management 101 could help them. Shift is horrible 5pm-11pm. what a joke when it comes to hours.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop giving Incompetence Associates Lead or Supervisor position, or i must say friends. Give some one who deserve it.

Well I enjoy people and busy work...there is plenty of both so I'ld consider that a pro.

The management is very open and accommodating.

    Cons

    Your feet hurt...bad.

The pay scale...it could definitely be better.
