You have full ownership of your area.
    Pay/incentives for associates is excellent!

    Cons

Pay could be more for the amount of responsibility.
    There's a lack of training.
Very tenured leaders. (Makes it hard for some to move up)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pros

The discount for employees is amazing. The people that work here are very nice and friendly. The manager is very hands on and does every job in the store. They are willing to be flexible with my schedule.

    Cons

Raises are not often and when they come they are pretty small.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I worked at J. C. Penney part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

It was great to work within a team setting. The training I received was spot on and allowed for me to receive my commissions on a regular basis along with base pay. The management, staff and co workers all seemed to get along well and you can gain alot of respect within the company. At the time it was easier to move up through the company and be able to show you skill set to the district managers that periodically walked through the store.

    Cons

It was unfortunate when JCPenney took the dive a few years back. Many individuals lost their jobs and the company was never the same afterwards. Dealing with management at the point in time was horrid.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat your employees with respect because in the long run thats how they will stay longer with the company. Offer a few bonuses here and there because the challenge for most people would allow them to make an extra income or move up further with the company. Lost alot of potential leaders because they were treated unfairly.

I have been working at J. C. Penney part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

JCP has a very supportive leadership team and while it can get stressful sometimes, everyone really wants to do what's best for the store.

    Cons

The only real con is that there is a lack of sufficient hours at times and that can make paying rent an issue.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Remember that we've all got bills to pay, and we need to be scheduled consistently in order to meet our financial needs.
