  1. With a great deal of knowledge and the experience in the industry, Jcp is one company that can take you to new places.

    Pros

The emphasis on customer experience and overall satisfaction vs. just selling products is a huge benefit. With less stress on having to hit certain thresholds, people can focus on assisting the customer with respect.

    Cons

Lack of company follow through on attendance issues and mediocre training. Most of the job functions are learned on the floor and not during the formal 8 hour training/orientation.

    Advice to Management

My only advice to management would be to talk and understand your team as much as you can. Let them see you doing the work you expect at the level you expect them to preform. Be empathetic and trusting. Cultivate an environment where creativity can thrive.

I have been working at J. C. Penney part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Early daytime shifts, friendly coworkers, pleasant customers. Management doesn't micro-manage you. Discount is awesome!

    Cons

Low pay, not enough to live on in CA. Not many full time positions. No benefits unless you're full time.

    Advice to Management

Add more full time positions so your employees can afford to live.

    I worked at J. C. Penney full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Jcpenney used to offer good benefits, that is why I chose to work there. They have updated their image as best they can, but its still a joke.

    Cons

Salon manager and receptionists have blatant favoritism If you transfer to another store from out of state jcpenney treats you terrible. They will only give you 2-3 day work weeks, will not give you any customers so you will sit all day and not make any money. Making the stylists go out into the store and bothering customers who are shopping by handing out coupons or free services. Rude, cheap customers with unrealistic expectations. No back up from manager. Stylists are expected to rebook 50% of customers for next appointment before checkout or will not be given any new customers, even though 50% of 0 is ZERO. Some co workers are nice, but most are horrible insecure lowlifes who hate new employees and will do anything to make them quit or get fired.

    Advice to Management

A stylist who has been working at your store for 10+ years should have an established viable clientele and should be at the bottom of the list for new customers. Salon managers have no clue on how to work with people. They are judgmental & base their decisions emotionally & personally. They are unprofessional. They let customers & favorite employees walk all over them. You need to train your "leaders" better or just get rid of the position

    I worked at J. C. Penney part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

25% discount and other discounts on top of that

    Cons

Management drills these rules & policies into our heads, but breaks them for any customer who calls them over -.-

    Advice to Management

Get it together and follow your own rules please. I understand you want to please every customer, but it makes the sales employees look bad
