I have been working at J. Crew

    Pros

Really takes care of "their people" with "free"clothes (crew clothes) after training is complete, great perks and benefits packages.

It's a company that cares about fashion and their customer

    Cons

Recently took away commission for sales associates stating that "commission is not helping drive sales"; however, sales have not been the best over the past 2 years not because of sales associates but because of labor and quality of textile decisions that the company has made.

I have been working at J. Crew part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

The discount, lots of room for upward movement, supportive management, great community, perfect college job, keeps very open lines of communication from lower levels to upper. Of course the customers can get really crazy but all the managers at my store have always been very supportive and helpful of the employees.

    Cons

retail hours, crazy customers, the hardest part about working in the retail stores is probably dealing with the random promos that are always going on and keeping on top of them. Retail hours are tough, not too many on-calls but the management has to give out some just in case they need more help.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The promos are too much to have all the time and changing every week
