Overall a Decent Company To Work For

Customer Assistance Specialist (Former Employee)
Dallas, TX

I worked at J.P. Morgan full-time for more than 5 years

ProsIt's about the same as working for any other company. The benefits are comparable. There are huge variances in culture depending on what part line of business and department you work for.

ConsIn many of the larger Ops centers, it's a toss up as to what kind of manager you'll have. Managers aren't well trained, which is a huge issue. Chase doesn't have a standard manager training, which makes it challenging for new manager.

Advice to Senior ManagementHire a more educated employees. Require more than a high school diploma and be willing to train.

Good environment tarnished by constant change

Information Risk Analyst (Former Employee)
New York, NY

I worked at J.P. Morgan full-time for more than a year

ProsInteresting people to work with - the firm recruits very talented individuals. The benefits are good as is the pay. There is opportunity to rise, as long as you network.

ConsIf you join, be ready for unnecessary change for the sake of change. New management will often come in and stamp their mark on a department by turning processes upside down just to show they're in charge - ends up wasting a lot of invested resources and disgruntling those beneath.

Advice to Senior ManagementBetter to understand why things are done the way they are done rather than force in new thinking.

Well rounded company with growth potential.

Private Client Banker (Former Employee)

ProsI enjoyed working with Chase. If you worked hard commissions reflected. The working environment were very good. Worked well with family life. Benefits were good as well as vacation and time off. Great company to work for.

ConsI do not choose to give any negative responses for Chase Bank. They were a good company to work for.

Not bad but not the best paying

Vice President - Branch Manager (Current Employee)
Seattle, WA

I have been working at J.P. Morgan full-time for more than a year

ProsWork life balance is decent and depending on your manager you can have flexibility on how you want to manage your branch.

ConsJob totally depends on your manager. Management can be changed at anytime without any notice. Bonuses are only paid once a year so you are forced to live on a low base salary.

Advice to Senior ManagementPay more money for this position. Most every other bank is paying much more...

Solid company, lots of opportunity

Project Manager (Current Employee)
Columbus, OH

I have been working at J.P. Morgan full-time for more than 5 years

ProsPlenty of opportunity to work in many different areas and lines of business. Good chances for mobility and promotions. Great benefits and networking opportunities.

ConsSometimes it can feel easy to get lost or unnoticed in such a large company. Can be political, lots of red tape and hurdles to get things done.

Advice to Senior ManagementMinimize obstacles where possible. Listen to the lower-level or younger generation of employees.

Customer Service Specialist Phones

Telephone Banker (Current Employee)
Orlando, FL

I have been working at J.P. Morgan full-time for less than a year

ProsPersonal growth, though it doesn't follow the traditional path and wait your turn ladder that a lot of us are use to. They pay is good for someone who is just starting out. The training is excellent. Benefits and vacation time are good. The have a strong presence in the community in regards to volunteerism and strongly encourage this. The health plan is good and they encourage wellness. I like working here but the job isn't for everyone.

ConsLittle flexibility as far as schedule and it is hard sometimes to schedule time off since most of the time there is only 8 hours available each day. The are difficult verbatim scripts that make for awkward conversation when speaking to a customer. I feel like the handle time is low for the conversation we are trying to have with our customers.
