I worked at J.P. Morgan full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Close knit workplace, team atmosphere with little office drama compared to my current place of employment. Advancement for those who want it, security for those who perform.

    Cons

Pay increases are hard to come by even when advancing, compeditors pay more by 15-20 percent for the same kind of work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Relax the pay increase rules as it pertains to promotions and you will keep your top tallent. Don't keep good people in low salaries for rules that can be applied where never intended.

I have been working at J.P. Morgan full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The company treats employees well and fairly. The company has an excellent reputation and I am proud to work here.

    Cons

Typical negative of working for a very large corporation. You are unknown and not considered a part of the sucess of the company. Despite what management says.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Generally a good job, however lower level employees have little say or influence in how their job is done.

I have been working at J.P. Morgan full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Plenty of opportunity and job growth even through the tough economy. Top-notch healthcare, 401k and pension plan benefits. If you are willing to work hard you can write your own ticket.

    Cons

Work-life balance is tough if you are a manager. Expect to put in many late night's. Compensation is below industry standards and bonus's are almost non existent.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please consider creating more department activities for the employees, align compensation with the industry and bring back a bonus structure.

I worked at J.P. Morgan full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The HR Department is very well structured and does not judge you from a personal stance but from a policy stance.

As you network you have management that will give you advice and are very approachable.

Leadership was great, a lot of mentors and managers who wanted to push you to become a better person

    Cons

From my experience they train you very heavily for the position its up to the individual how much they would like to succeed. Time off they let you the policy in advance. I had a great office experience.
If your manager was approachable and easy going then your office experience went well.

I worked at J.P. Morgan full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Good solid company that works hard to reassign jobs instead of laying off.

    Cons

Major disconnect between senior management and workforce.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Just because you are management doesn't mean that you have to look down to your employees. Good leadership finds ways to relate to their followers. Work on creating a more positive culture. Also, pay competitively to retain good talent.

I have been working at J.P. Morgan full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

401k and stock benefits are ok.

    Cons

Managment is a joke to say the least, no development or career progression will ever happen, lots of big promises and talk never any action, honestly this cons list is never ending.... Just go into this company knowing "this is just a job not a career"

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest more time in growing your people, make the pay scale more even and fair, hire leadership that is more than just big talk and fancy degrees, work on your company culture

I worked at J.P. Morgan full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Large organization, various lines of business that could provide opportunities for movement.

    Cons

Management needs to learn to effectively manage people. Growth opportunities are limited, you're stuck wherever you are. No organizational culture.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Train your managers and staff, develop the culture of the organization and share it with staff.

People, that's the only good thing, honestly.

    Cons

Getting paid a living wage and not being worked to death.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fight for your people's salaries, otherwise you WILL lose the good ones when they get tired of waiting THREE YEARS for the promised "Market Salary Adjustment."
