I worked at J.P. Morgan full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Good culture to be part of. Employee mobility was encouraged. Great people to work with. Paid time off was good, especially with having one week added for everyone for 2014. Cross-training within our site was very much encouraged. Nice incentive program for meeting goals.

    Cons

Work/Life balance was sometimes a fine line if there was a lot of work. A work until finish schedule can be hard to deal with. Regional management in lockbox didn't always follow through on promises, especially including giving help finding another internal position when the Columbus lockbox site was closing.

I worked at J.P. Morgan full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

I was in an IT line of business the whole time I was there and found it to be immensely rewarding for a long time. There were daily challenges and opportunities to learn and grow. For the most part management was supportive. Benefits were very good, when compared to other jobs.

    Cons

For the line of business that I was employed in the demands and expectations on workload became unsustainable. A lot of the flexibility and autonomy that made this job great for me in the past was being chipped away with constant re-organizations and management being more concerned with their own personal needs than bringing people together to get more done for the business.

I have been working at J.P. Morgan (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Good pay and good benefits. Good people work here so makes for a decent workday. Great place to learn and gain experience.

    Cons

Management can be disorganized. High workload, especially for managers who are exempt. Difficult to get through the bureaucracy at times. Long hours to go along with the high workload

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Encourage more involvement from the front line staff and lower levels of management. These are the people that see the issues front and center, they deal with customers and deliver the service first-hand. Be more open minded and willing to listen/take ideas from employees across all levels in the organization.
