I have been working at J.P. Morgan (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Extremely happy. Worked for other banks and Chase is the most cutting edge and in tune to technology. I love the concern for each customer and everyone is treated equally!

    Cons

Staffing could improve in some branches

I worked at J.P. Morgan full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Well organized work environment with excellent technology and HR support systems. The entire team I worked with are industry professionals bringing best practices to the table. JPMC does a great job attempting to hold its employees by providing cross training and encouraging individuals to apply for various lines of business to increase their understanding of the banking and finance industry.

    Cons

People are commodities, and as the organization changes its focus it is not uncommon to see large groups of employees reduced from the rolls.

    Advice to Management

If you are going to hire military veterans, it may make more sense to have their managers undergo training to better understand the mindset and culture that the veterans are coming from.

I worked at J.P. Morgan full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Decent health, dental, and vision benefits. employer matches up to 5% on employee's 410k contribution annually . Reasonable occurrence policies for tardiness and unscheduled absences. Daycare facility is located on campus for permanent employees to use if needed. permanent employees can get discounts on tickets for multiple theme parks, concerts. and other events. Certain positions can earn extra compensation based on performance.

    Cons

It is very hard to transfer into other open positions , and they appear to favor external candidates for open vacancies. Most of the shifts offered , require employees to work at least one weekend day or night shift. Some positions have salary caps , preventing even an exemplary Employee from receiving a yearly pay increase. Certain LOB located in the U.S were closed , then outsourced for cheaper labor overseas.

    Advice to Management

do a better job to motivate and increase the moral of the employees.

    Pros

Prestigious worldwide organization. Great people to work with. Competitive compensation and benefits for their employees.

    Cons

Bad work life balance in some areas of the company. Closing positions in the US and replacing them by outsourcing overseas to cut cost. It is very challenging for contractors to be "considered and hired" as a JPMorgan employee due to the constant layoffs and downsizing.

    Advice to Management

You have to stop the bleeding. You have really smart, loyal employees, managers, and VPs with years of expertise, who have done all they can to support and back your play. Please don't let them go. Retain the talent. PLEASE Help the US economy to be STRONG again by keeping the jobs among Americans and not outsourcing to foreign countries.

    Pros

Vacation Benefits Nationwide locations to work from Branding Multiple lines of business - endless opportunity to learn 401K match

    Cons

Minimal investment in mid level manager leadership development Poor employee recognition programs Job stability

    Advice to Management

Take a harder look at the auto finance leaders - Executive Directors. The leadership turnover rate is high for a reason. Not enough forward thinking and people oriented leaders. The auto finance culture is poor as a result of long standing leaders who do not think about modern work place cultures, sustainable solutions & knee jerk reactions.
