I worked at J.P. Morgan full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Senior management does a good job sharing the future direction and challenges of the business.
Cross training between departments has helped to break down silos and improve overall bank performance.

    Cons

Work-life balance can be challenging in a non stop fast pace working environment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Recommend employee job rotation on an annual or up to 3 years base to prevent burnout syndrom.

I have been working at J.P. Morgan as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

Really enjoyed my team, they are all great people. I also could not have asked for a better hourly rate as a sophomore, I don't know any of my friends at other companies being paid more for our year. Enjoyed getting some real business/project management experience at a company that looks fantastic on the resume.

    Cons

It was a pretty slow onboarding and spent the first week getting set up, but I guess that is to be expected at a large firm. Not too many cons, but just not something I want to do personally out of school, more interested in consulting.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

keep up the revamping of office spaces...shorter cubicles, etc

I have been working at J.P. Morgan full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    1. Good brand name to have on your resume; should you decide to move; which if you are sane you most likely will.
    2. Lots of great work going on here. Very sophisticated banking stuff.
    3. A few good people.
    4. Great CEO and excellent upper leadership.
    5. Very good work life balance.
    6. The Company itself is excellent. It's probably just the group or delaware. Could be both.

    Cons

    1. Most of the people who work here have some kind of a weird attitude towards each other. There is barely any cooperation even within teams. Their performance management system encourages backstabbing and degrades the employee morale. You can work your butts off but only expect a "meets", but hey if your boss likes you then you can get "exceeds" every single time even if you screw up big time.

    2. Most people are just trying to throw others under a bus. If you want to grow, don't expect that to happen due to your hard work. You need to do a lot of brown nosing to get promoted.

    3. The amount of bias here is pathetic. There is a director in card who will walk up to his favorite people everyday and talk to them about life and stuff. These are the guys that usually get promoted at the end of the year.

    4. Lot of good people have quit this place. Any intelligent person can see right through this place. No incentive here to stay.

    5. Delaware is a pathetic place. If you haven't been here then be prepared to pay for parking, city tax and expensive apartments. And even after all that there is a lack of any life around the city or even state.

    6. Managers have no clue about the teams they lead. Their main goal is to sit back and do administrative tasks for 6 months of the year , vacation a month and then the remaining 5 months just talk brilliantly about problems so that it can give an illusion that a lot of interesting stuff is happening.

    7. Bonuses suck here. Major gap in bonus between different increments of jobs.

    8. More emphasis on immediate appearance than on underlying form.

I have been working at J.P. Morgan full-time

    Pros

With such a large company you don't have to worry much about job security and there are many opportunities for career advancement. There is also a good amount of work-life balance, at least in the IT line of business. As far as perks, there are a number of benefits that you can choose to take advantage of.

    Cons

Boring at times. There is way too much bureaucracy. The compensation could be better considering that this is a rather large financial institution but it is not too far off industry average for this area.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pros

Very good working environment and benefits ( specificaly paid vacation ). Opportunity of learning business / technology as you can move from one division to other.

    Cons

Salary increment is very tight. Too many non-technical personal at Managerial level which puts pressure on technical staff working under them.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give better salary increment for good performance and also provide technical training.

I worked at J.P. Morgan full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

JPMC provides many different opportunities if you are willing to move from department to department. Decent pay & benefits. They do actually reward good effort. Good people for the most part.

    Cons

Not as flexible with schedules as they say they are. There's a low ceiling for upward mobility (plenty of lateral mobility). People that have been there a long time tend to get stuck in status quo mode and are not open to new ideas.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more forthcoming and honest with your staff and don't make them promises you know you do not intent to keep. Stop dangling the carrot as a manipulation tool. Pay more attention to the intangibles.

I have been working at J.P. Morgan full-time for more than a year

    Pros

JPMorgan is a solid company that could be around for a long time with a few administrative changes

    Cons

The low level workers are mistreated

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

setup controls to monitor how much care is to engine of the company(without the engine the car dies) in today's modern corporations there should be no room for discrimination - top level management need to investigate because that very behavior because it will take jpmorgan down reputationally. 2.The Talent Re-assignment program should be a cost saving program but the managers are not utilizing the program to cut cost, every company is trying to retain there talent but the managers at chase are releasing and re-recruiting which make no sense, maximizing the potential of this program should make business sense!
