    I worked at J Sainsbury part-time

    Pros

Great for working on a part time basis and during college / uni as the hours can be flexible and the work load is not too demanding

    Cons

The role(s) can become very repetitive and can drag. If you're young dont do this type of work for too long. Do it to get customer service experience and then move on.

    Advice to Management

This is on a store by store basis so does not reflect the whole company. What i do know is that HR are good at this company and you'll always get that manager that may treat you badly, but just know how to stick it to them in a professional manner. Most managers are aware that its not the best job in the world and would help you to enjoy it in the best way they can. Generally, Sainsburys senior management needs to learn how to grow and retain talent.

    I worked at J Sainsbury

    Pros

Friendly and helpful colleagues, they mostly kept you on the same aisles so got used to where the products went, the door was locked (someone had the key to be able to let people in and out throughout the night) so felt safe.

    Cons

Manager was always banging on how slow people were putting the products out, even though the store as 9 times out of 10 completed!

    Pros

Nice people at the working level.
    Customer engagement is nice.

    Cons

Training is all a tick box excercise. You learn by being chucked in the deep end.
Most management feel theyve worked to their right to do nothing.
Way too much of a pull on staff. Morale severely affected. Senior management dont listen or act.
No work/ life balance. Change schedule day before

    Advice to Management

    Do something

    Pros

Good company to work for. Treated staff pretty well and paid well for such a low requirement job. Three more words!

    Cons

Microwave in the staff room was so basic. I had to reheat my pasty several times on occasion. I wish they had a George Foreman grill so I could tuck into some steak at work.

    Advice to Management

My number one piece of advice would be to stock my Jamie Oliver products and try to get rid of the ill fitting polyester uniform. Orange is not the new black.
