I worked at J-W Research part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Great client interaction experience if you are willing to put yourself out there and be passionate about doing well. Pay is great if you are a strong salesperson.

    Cons

Must be self-motivated and be able to withstand tough customers on a daily basis while keeping a positive attitude. Emotional intelligence is a must.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider more formalized training to ensure quality sales delivery across all employees.

We're the annoying people you ignore when you're shopping at your favorite store... Embarrassing.

I have been working at J-W Research full-time

    Pros

If you can sell without a conscience, you'll do really well. Hourly wage is guaranteed. Ability to travel to stores out of town, hotel, gas, food compensation.

    Cons

Nearly impossible to hit bonus as structure is always changing. If the store is really slow and you're not hitting targets, you get sent home so your hours may fluctuate. A lot of customers resent you and can be quite rude. Be prepared to deal with rejection. High turnover rate - they constantly hire and fire. All sales reps must be top reps in order to have longevity.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Top dogs spend a lot of time saying the same things over and over again. They offer no support, only chastisement which trickles down to reps thru management. No innovation, no evolution. The economy changes, the market changes, but JWR does not. Advice? Stop treating this company like its a hobby...

I worked at J-W Research full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

the best part about working for JW was the flexible schedule and availability offered.

    Cons

terrible management, no care for employees, harassment of days off, impossible metrics, your job is based on wether or not people qualify forward if they do not then your the one in trouble. it is a problem you have no control over and you cannot change the outcome.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

lower the metrics for people and understand that the reps are trying to sell a card that has been out for years and that they have no control if a person qualifies or not

    Pros

Learned how to sell properly without overdoing it. Met one of the owners who talked about why he worked there and where the company was going. He always says hello when I see him in the office and he remembers my name. I really like the commissions you can make if you work hard.

    Cons

Some negative sales reps that end up bringing you down. Managers need to deal with this. Few opportunities to grow unless you move. Not a job for everyone. You always have to be happy. Would be nice to get medical.

    Pros

I like working for a bank because it has unlimited growth.

    Cons

I was a little intimidated by number of failures.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I think that instead of trying to always find new methods of marketing, you guys should stick to what works and find opportunities to improve it.

I have been working at J-W Research part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

It's an easy job. The management was so horrible that they got complaint by the Scotia Bank employees. It's a very simple job which they made it sound complicated.

    Cons

Cheap payment, cheated out of commission, horrible management who begged people to work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get a life and pay up on commission, Behave properly so you won't be scolded at by clients' employees.
