Small company feel with large company projects

    Consultant (Current Employee) Denver, CO

ProsJCB Partners has a great balance between treating clients and employees with the care you would see at a small company while working on similar projects of the top consulting firms. The management is genuine and is concerned with your personal goals and how they can be achieved while working at JCB. Also, a great deal of responsibility is placed on the consultants. This means you could work on all project phases and will not be pigeonholed into one task. Because of this you are able to gain a great deal of experience in a small amount of time. Also, there are very talented and motivated individuals that are also fun to be around outside the office - just good people in general. Another positive is there is a great deal of focus on providing work/life balance. (you may typically work 40-50 hr weeks) Sometimes you may need to go above an beyond on hours if a project goes down to the wire, but that is the nature of consulting. Finding a work/life balance like this is hard to find at any of the larger consulting firms.

ConsThe drawback to providing that much responsibility on consultants is one bad egg is given the opportunity to make everyone look bad. Fortunately, the team is full of a lot of multi-talented individuals that do well in this environment. Hiring is a bit picky as well, but it is also to ensure the employees are capable to work in this environment and fit in to the team dynamics.

Advice to Senior ManagementYou have a good strategy. Keep this a great place to work and keep hiring only the motivated and genuine.

Great work life balance and tremendous growth opportunities with due recognition

Senior Consultant (Current Employee) San Francisco, CA

ProsManagement is great. They step up every time an employee at any level needs assistance or back up. Recognition in this company is the main driver for performance all across the board. For a geographically diverse company it is surprising that most of the peers know each other and work very closely. Management makes every effort to minimize travel during an engagement. Internal knowledge sharing keeps the wheels turning. For freshers its a great place to start their career.

ConsThe only con is the benefits package. The management is making every effort to improve it. It will get better eventually.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep up the great work. JCB Partners will eventually grow to become one of the best in the business. The recognition, encouragement and opportunities that is provided to every employee drives this company and the management makes sure it stays like that.

    Full of Favoritism

    Consultant (Former Employee)

ProsThe e-mail network is good. Considering the company's consultants are nationwide, their interaction thru e-mails is good.

ConsToo much favoritism resulting in different rules for different people. It's not what you know that counts but who you know that counts there. Competent people are made to work for themselves as well as for incompetent people. When the market turns bad, good people get laid off to save jobs of people who hardly know anything about their jobs. No wonder 90% of their customers never give them the second project.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
