Great company to work for but too big for a person to make much impact

    Senior Manager (Former Employee)

ProsThey put a lot of money and effort into employee training.

Frustrating as there is little accountability throughout the company as well as the executives are out of touch

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
    Scottsdale, AZ

ProsThe pay scale and cheap parking.

ConsNo accountability and out of touch management inept HR department who flood employees with worthless programs.

Advice to Senior ManagementTalk to the employees who actually do the work and stop with the feel-good programs, they don't help morale and only purpose is to keep HR staffed.

    Merger JDA/RP

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsThis is the right thing to do in the industry. The new combined company now needs to make decisions and capitalize on this opportunity.

ConsWith the tough decision, there needs to be clarity across the leadership and the tough changes need to be made there first, then drive those decisions into the company

Advice to Senior ManagementMake the tough decisions and ensure leadership is aligned

At RedPrairie during the merger with JDA

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsWell established systems and plenty of people to help with Sales/Project Situations

ConsArrogant. Out of touch with employees. Made huge mistakes during the RP acquisition.

Do not work for this company if you have any self esteem

    Customer Support Analyst (Former Employee)
    Scottsdale, AZ

ProsNo pros to this lot. Just a bunch of amateur managers patting themselves on the back.

ConsMicro management; top heavy; old architecture; lack of training; favoritism; bad hours; HR supports only management; nepotism etc. etc. etc.

Advice to Senior ManagementLearn from your employees. Some of them actually know what they are doing. Retail Software is a terrible environment and made worse by the working conditions, lack of support and training.

Good company if you want to relax and get comfortable, but very little US job growth

    Senior Software Engineer (Current Employee)
    Dallas, TX

ProsJDA has been a good company to work for, not very aggressive and folks tend to get 'comfortable' with little reason to leave. Salary has been very good - almost too good - making it hard to leave.

ConsGrowth thru acquisition, then they see just how lean they can get and still make money. Very little job growth in the US, all in CoE (Center of Excellence in India) - low cost help - again - trying to make more money easily/quickly. Now that we are private after the latest aquisition - will be interesting to see it continues.

Job distribution pushed to 70% - 30% split - 70% in India and non-US, and only 30% in the US. We have Manuguistics to thank for that! :-(

Advice to Senior ManagementAdd more jobs in the US, otherwise, soon it will be only executive levels and Sales in the US with rest in India.

Kill the JDA Performer program - it's a joke - you pat me on the back and I will pat you on the back - with most of activity coming from guess where - India!

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company
