Current Employee – been working at JDSU full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Opportunity to make a difference, JDSU makes an impact on the most important things in life
Cons – Due to the markets we are in... there are often changes that occur quickly and with little notice, which makes planning difficult.

Current Employee – been working at JDSU full-time
Pros – JDSU is a very advanced and dynamic organisation which is constantly adapting. Having previously worked for a very strictly regimented organisation, JDSU has been a breath of fresh air. The people are friendly, helpful and extremly supportive and all show an extremely realistic attitude. I would recommend JDSU to anyone willing and able to adapt to change and evolve with the company.
Cons – The only downsde to JDSU is its lack of consistency of process across its regions due to global legislation, etc, as well as during constant change. As long as you are adaptable and open then its easy to work with.
Advice to Senior Management – Ensure consistency on the ground and promote and retain employee motiviation during great change.

Current Employee – been working at JDSU
Pros – It is very important to be the your own boss when you are working on things and deciding what to do next with feedback from your manager.
Cons – It is probably very common in the market but that there are stringent time limitations to come up with something new that can be applied right away.
Advice to Senior Management – The leaders should realize and tell business managers about what is though and why things might take longer and needs more time and effort.

Pros – The business is growing rapidly and proliferating. As a technology leader, JDSU values the importance of innovation. Innovation is a priority and management is committed and invested in being the best. Management also has a high degree of focus on employee engagement and growth. Career development and leadership training are a priority.
Cons – The business units at JDSU work very hard. You are judged on what you deliver, not effort. There is not much room for failure.
Advice to Senior Management – As we continue to grow as a company, we need to continue to focus on employee engagement. Career development and leadership training is integral to our success.

Former Employee – worked at JDSU
Pros – This company treats co-ops with great respect. You're treated as one of the team and a serious effort is made to further you're classwork with practical application as well as a great emphasis towards on the job training with things you could never pick up in the classroom.
Cons – Not many I can think of. The people there are excellent and the location in Germantown is great. I really have no complaints overall.
Advice to Senior Management – Don't let the co-op program fall to the wayside in these tough times. The experience I received here was at least as important as anything I received in my university education.

Current Employee – been working at JDSU
Pros – Competitive team atmosphere. Management staff who really care about your performance and job satisfaction. Lots of opportunities for advancement. Exciting & dynamic environment...never a dull moment. Company functions you won't beat anywhere else outside the Beltway. If you're ok with existing in a constant state of flux where your job is never the same two days in a row, JDSU is the place for you.
Cons – Stressful and fast paced. "Trial by fire" / very steep learning curve for those without an engineering background. It certainly isn't for everyone. Low morale as a result of layoffs and the current economic environment.
Advice to Senior Management – Please right the ship. I love working here.

Current Employee – been working at JDSU
Pros – JDSU continues to be a leader in the industry and continues to grow. I feel that career opportunities are available for employees who work hard and show interest in moving forward and up in the organization. People are treated fairly and with respect... One of the reasons I love working for JDSU is the flexibility with work and life balance. I've always felt comfortable and not worried when I need to take personal time off for doctors appointments, vacation, etc... There is trust in me that I will get my job done - which makes me trust in my management team.
Cons – I really can't think of any true "downsides" of working at JDSU. Perhaps the one thing I can think of is constant change... but that depends on how well you embrace change. I personally would feel bored if things stayed status quo and can count on a new challenge everyday. If you do not like change - this is not the company for you.
Advice to Senior Management – Continue doing what you're doing...
